  • Mason Lohrei D | BOS

Bruins' Mason Lohrei: Back at practice Thursday

Lohrei (undisclosed) resumed skating at Thursday's practice, per Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald.

Head coach Marco Sturm stated that Lohrei was to underdog additional testing Wednesday for his undisclosed injury, and it seems that the 25-year-old defenseman passed them. Across 73 regular-season games in the 2025-26 campaign, he posted seven goals, 26 points, 72 shots on net and 93 blocked shots. Barring he stays healthy prior to puck drop on opening night, he could be in line for a heightened role during Charlie McAvoy's six-game suspension.

  • Esa Lindell D | DAL

Stars' Esa Lindell: Tallies in preseason win

Lindell scored a goal on two shots in Wednesday's 2-0 preseason win over the Wild.

Lindell showed a little offense in this preseason contest. The 32-year-old defenseman is likely to resume his usual shutdown role in the top four for the Stars in 2026-27. He matched his career high with 32 points while adding a plus-30 rating, 83 shots on net and 179 blocked shots over 82 regular-season contests last year. Lindell doesn't hit like he used to, but he's defensively sound on a good team, which gives him depth appeal in fantasy.

  • Mammoth's Maveric Lamoureux: Will miss some time

Lamoureux is expected to miss some time due to his upper-body injury, per Brogan Houston of the Deseret News on Wednesday.

Lamoureux sustained the injury during Tuesday's preseason game against Los Angeles. He had five goals, 20 points and 75 PIM in 65 regular-season appearances with AHL Tucson in 2025-26. Lamoureux might be sent to the minors once he's healthy.

  • Cam Dineen D | EDM

Flyers' Cam Dineen: Waived by Philadelphia

Dineen was placed on waivers by the Flyers on Wednesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Dineen signed a two-year, two-way contract with Philadelphia in July and seemed like a long shot to make the team's Opening Night roster. He'll head to AHL Lehigh Valley if he clears waivers, but he could be called up if the Flyers deal with injuries.

  • Blue Jackets' Damon Severson: Status uncertain for Opening Night

Head coach Rick Bowness said Thursday that he isn't yet sure whether Severson (shoulder) will be ready for the Blue Jackets' Opening Night matchup against the Sabres on Oct. 1, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.

Severson underwent shoulder surgery in early April that ended his 2025-26 campaign prematurely, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be ready to suit up once the 2026-27 regular season begins. Bowness said Wednesday that the defenseman tells him "every day" that he "feels good." The Blue Jackets have consistently increased Severon's contact workload in practice.

  • Dante Fabbro D | CLB

Blue Jackets' Dante Fabbro: Recovery ongoing

Fabbro (upper body) could be in danger of missing Opening Night against the Sabres on Oct. 1, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports Wednesday.

Fabbro's recovery is reportedly not going as quickly as the team had hoped, raising doubts regarding his availability for the season opener. With Damon Severson (shoulder) also working his way back from injury, the absence of Fabbro could create a significant gap on the Jackets' blue line.

  • Maple Leafs' Dakota Mermis: Hits waivers

Mermis was put on waivers by Toronto on Wednesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Mermis is projected to report to AHL Toronto if he goes unclaimed. Although the 32-year-old did record a goal and 11 PIM in 11 regular-season outings with the Maple Leafs in 2025-26, he's more of an emergency depth option, so his inclusion on the waiver list isn't surprising.

  • Cole Clayton D | VAN

Canucks' Cole Clayton: Waived by Vancouver

Clayton was placed on waivers by the Canucks on Wednesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Clayton has yet to make his NHL debut, but he signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Canucks in mid-June. Assuming he clears waivers, he'll presumably spend the majority of the 2026-27 campaign with AHL Abbotsford.

  • Cole McWard D | TOR

Maple Leafs' Cole McWard: Put on waivers

McWard was waived by Toronto on Wednesday, per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

McWard signed a two-year, $1.75 million contract with the Maple Leafs over the summer. He'll still earn his full salary even if he plays in the minors, as it's a one-way agreement. The 25-year-old had six goals, 27 points and 24 PIM in 63 regular-season appearances with AHL Bridgeport in 2025-26.

  • Red Wings' Ronnie Attard: Put on waivers

Attard was placed on waivers by the Red Wings on Wednesday, per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

Attard had three goals, 17 points and 38 PIM in 44 regular-season appearances with AHL Colorado in 2025-26. After inking a one-year, two-way contract with the Red Wings over the summer, Attard is expected to open the upcoming campaign with AHL Grand Rapids.
