  • Canucks' Tom Willander: Opens scoring in loss

Willander scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Sharks.

Willander missed Sunday's game versus the Penguins due to an illness, but he made a quick impact in his return to the lineup. Willander may see steadier playing time going forward while Zeev Buium (face) is out of action. Willander has three goals, 15 points, 37 shots on net, 38 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating through 41 appearances this season. Considering he's in a third-pairing role on a bad team, he's done fairly well on offense as a rookie.

  • Filip Hronek D | VAN

Canucks' Filip Hronek: Nets power-play tally

Hronek scored a power-play goal on three shots, added two hits, blocked two shots and went minus-2 in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Sharks.

Hronek has two goals and two helpers over the last five games. The 28-year-old defenseman continues to be steady enough on offense to make up for the downsides of playing on a bad team. Hronek is at five goals, 31 points, 74 shots on net, 81 hits, 73 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through 53 appearances. He'll go uncontested for the top power-play job while Zeev Buium (face) is on injured reserve, making Hronek a quality all-around target in fantasy.

  • Sharks' Sam Dickinson: Earns first multi-point effort

Dickinson logged two assists, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Canucks.

Dickinson earned his first career multi-point effort by helping out on goals by Macklin Celebrini and Tyler Toffoli in the first period. With five helpers over his last 13 games, Dickinson has found a little more success on offense. The 19-year-old blueliner is at eight points, 38 shots on net, 38 hits, 37 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over 42 appearances. He's done a lot of learning on the job this year, but the future remains bright for the 11th overall pick from 2024.

  • Sharks' John Klingberg: One of each on power play

Klingberg scored a goal on four shots and added an assist in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Canucks.

Klingberg's pair of points came on the power play. The 33-year-old has maintained his place on the top unit despite earning just one assist over six games entering Tuesday. The blueliner is up to 10 goals, 19 points (nine on the power play), 63 shots on net, 52 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating through 38 appearances. He's sharing enough ice with Macklin Celebrini to at least be intriguing in fantasy.

  • Blackhawks' Louis Crevier: Registers assist

Crevier logged an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Wild.

Crevier had gone seven games without a point after missing two contests due to an illness. The 24-year-old defenseman continues to handle top-four minutes, but he's in more of a shutdown role. Crevier has put up 15 points, 75 shots on net, 79 hits, 50 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over 50 outings this season.

  • Wild's Jared Spurgeon: Nets equalizer in shootout win

Spurgeon scored a goal on two shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Blackhawks.

Spurgeon had been limited to one assist over his previous nine outings. The defenseman picked a good time to find the twine, scoring the tying goal with 2:02 left in regulation. He's earned five goals, 15 points, 64 shots on net, 102 blocked shots, 63 hits and a minus-2 rating over 54 appearances. While his production hasn't been that impressive, he's been able to stay healthy and serve as a defensive leader for the Wild this year.

  • Radim Mrtka D | BUF

Sabres' Radim Mrtka: Distributes four helpers in WHL win

Mrtka notched four assists in WHL Seattle's 7-3 win over Brandon on Tuesday.

Mrtka has been dishing lately with eight helpers over his last five games. For the season, he's up to one goal, 23 assists and 36 shots on net over 20 WHL appearances. He's projected to be more of a shutdown defenseman as a professional, though he could offer some sneaky scoring in short bursts.

  • Sabres' Mattias Samuelsson: Four-game, seven-assist streak

Samuelsson had three assistsin a 7-4 win over the Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

Samuelsson has a four-game, seven-assist streak on the fly, which is impressive enough for a defender who's never put up more than 14 points in any season. However, Samuelsson also has more points on his run than star teammate Tage Thompson has on his current four-game streak (five points). Who knew Samuelsson would be a must-play fantasy defender?

  • Stars' Thomas Harley: One of each in win

Harley scored a goal on two shots, added an assist and blocked three shots in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Blues.

Harley ended a 16-game goal drought at a great time, scoring the decisive goal with 1:07 left in the third period. The 24-year-old defenseman has a pair of multi-point efforts over the last four games, so his offense may be starting to come around. He's up to three goals, 20 points, 63 shots on net, 94 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 41 outings this season, well behind the pace that earned him 50 points in 78 regular-season contests last year.

  • Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: Best performance of career

Dahlin scored three goals and added two assists in a 7-4 win over the Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

It was Dahlin's first NHL hat trick in a game that was perhaps the best one of his hockey career. It was just the eighth hat trick ever scored by a Sabres defender and the first against the vaunted Maple Leafs. Dahlin has had a difficult season personally, so this moment was special. He's now in a tie for eighth among NHL defenders with 42 points, including 11 goals, in 48 games.
