  • Kaiden Guhle D | MON

Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Nets goal in Heritage Classic

Guhle scored a goal, doled out three hits and blocked three shots in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Jets in the Heritage Classic.

Guhle has earned four points this season, all over the last four games. The 24-year-old defenseman took some time to get up to speed after recovering from a groin surgery. He's a steady source of non-scoring production as well, with 10 shots on net, 18 hits, seven blocked shots and a plus-1 rating across seven appearances in 2026-27. Look for Guhle to continue handling top-four minutes.

  • Lane Hutson D | MON

Canadiens' Lane Hutson: Opens scoring outdoors

Hutson scored a goal and blocked three shots in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Jets in the Heritage Classic.

It was a low-scoring contest, with Hutson tallying the first goal at 7:19 of the second period. Hutson had been limited to one assist over his previous three contests. The star defenseman has three goals, seven helpers, 22 shots on net, 13 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 11 appearances this season. The Canadiens' offense is a lot weaker without Nick Suzuki (upper body), but Hutson will help pick up the slack over the next month or so.

  • Hurricanes' Alexander Nikishin: Inks one-year deal

Nikishin (not injury related) signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Hurricanes on Sunday, which ends his time as an unsigned restricted free agent.

Nikishin missed Carolina's opening 13 games because of the contract dispute. Although he's eligible to play Tuesday versus Boston, he might need time to get up to speed during practices before he makes his season debut. When Nikishin is ready to play, it might be in a third-pairing capacity. He had 11 goals, 33 points, 33 PIM, 132 hits and 94 blocks in 81 regular-season appearances with Carolina in 2025-26.

  • Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Good to go

Forsling (upper body) will play against Chicago on Sunday, according to Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site.

Forsling appeared to be hit in the face by the puck late in Thursday's 4-0 loss to Pittsburgh, but he won't miss additional playing time. He has earned one goal, two points, 13 shots on net, seven blocked shots and five hits in 10 appearances this season.

  • Sharks' Jacob Trouba: Dishes pair of assists

Trouba notched two assists, including one on the power play, in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Bruins.

Trouba has a goal and four helpers, including three power-play assists, over his last three games. The defenseman's usage with the man advantage boosts his overall profile, especially if he can keep producing in that situation. He has two goals, six assists, 16 shots on net, 20 hits, 26 blocked shots, 11 PIM and a minus-4 rating over 12 outings this season. If that level of play holds, Trouba may end up being the top blueliner on the Sharks' roster by the end of the year.

  • Sharks' Dmitry Orlov: Cashes in on power play

Orlov scored a power-play goal on two shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Bruins.

Both of Orlov's goals this season have come with the man advantage. He was used sparingly in that situation early on, but he's returned to the top unit after Luca Cagnoni failed to run with the role. Orlov has five points, 12 shots on net, 18 hits, 14 blocked shots, eight PIM and a minus-6 rating over 12 outings. He'll be a decent all-around option, especially in leagues that don't use plus-minus rating.

  • Will Borgen D | BOS

Bruins' Will Borgen: Fills empty cage

Borgen scored an empty-net goal on three shots, added three hits and went plus-3 in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Sharks.

Borgen's two goals this season have both gone into empty nets. He's added two assists, eight shots on net, 33 hits, 16 blocked shots, 12 PIM and a plus-15 rating over 12 appearances. His gritty defensive work has been a perfect fit in the top four for the Bruins, and while that isn't likely to make him a fantasy star, his place in the NHL lineup is safe.

  • Canucks' Jack Thompson: Surfaces on waivers

Thompson (undisclosed) was placed on waivers Sunday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Thompson started the 2026-27 campaign on Vancouver's non-roster injured list. Now that he's healthy, he will likely head to AHL Abbotsford if he clears waivers. Thompson notched six goals and 25 points in 56 AHL regular-season appearances between Abbotsford and San Jose in 2025-26.

  • Adam Fox D | NYR

Rangers' Adam Fox: Provides two more helpers

Fox notched two assists, including one while shorthanded, and added two blocked shots in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Senators.

Fox has seven helpers over his last three games. The star defenseman is in prime form this year, earning 16 helpers over his first 13 games despite coming up empty on 13 shots. He's added 23 blocks and a plus-4 rating while playing in a top-pairing role. Fox has just one point-per-game season in his career, though he's fallen just short a couple of other times. He might not keep this pace up all year, but he won't drop off significantly.

  • Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: Logs helper Saturday

Dahlin notched an assist and three shots on goal in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Capitals.

This was Dahlin's second game back after missing three due to an upper-body injury. The defenseman has played significantly in all the games where he hasn't gotten hurt, topping 25 minutes of ice time on seven occasions this season. The Sabres are leaning heavily on their top four, and Dahlin leads the way. He has five points, 26 shots on net, 12 hits, 15 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over eight appearances.
