  • Bruins' Brendan Gaunce: Lands on waivers

Gaunce was placed on waivers by the Bruins on Friday for the purpose of assignment to AHL Providence.

Gaunce made 25 regular-season appearances with the Blue Jackets last year and recorded two goals, four assists, 44 hits, 21 blocked shots and 12 PIM while averaging 11:54 of ice time. He signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Bruins during the offseason and will begin the year in the minors if he clears waivers.

  • Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Available on waivers

Sundqvist was placed on waivers by the Blues on Friday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Sundqvist has racked up 181 points in 545 regular-season contests over his NHL career, twice winning the Stanley Cup. As such, there could certainly be some level of interest around the league in acquiring his services. If he does go unclaimed, Sundqvist will likely be headed to AHL Springfield.

  • Jack Finley C | STL

Blues' Jack Finley: Hits waiver wire

Finley was designated for waivers by the Blues on Friday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Finley ended the 2025-26 campaign mired in a 32-game goal drought during which he managed just two assists and 16 shots while playing for the Lightning and the Blues. Considering the 24-year-old center was a waiver claim by the Blues in the first place, it's possible that the Lightning would be interested in picking him back up.

  • Glenn Gawdin C | ANA

Rangers' Glenn Gawdin: Lands on waivers

Gawdin was put on waivers by the Rangers on Friday, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

Gawdin had 16 goals, 51 points and 73 PIM in 71 regular-season appearances with AHL Ontario in 2025-26. The 29-year-old is expected to spend most, if not all, of the upcoming campaign in the minors.

  • Luke Glendening: Released from PTO

Glendening was released from his professional tryout agreement by the Lightning on Friday.

Glendening signed a professional tryout agreement with Tampa Bay in mid-September but will be let go a week and a half later. The 37-year-old has made at least 70 NHL regular-season appearances in five consecutive seasons and could draw interest form other teams at some point during the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Sabres' Trevor Kuntar: Waived Friday

Kuntar was waived by Buffalo on Friday.

Kuntar had 21 goals, 37 points and 85 PIM in 70 regular-season appearances with AHL Rochester in 2025-26. He's expected to spend most, if not all, of the upcoming campaign in the minors.

  • Oilers' Jason Dickinson: Set to miss Opening Night

Dickinson will be sidelined indefinitely with an undisclosed injury, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports Friday.

Dickinson was expected to fill a bottom-six role for the club, a role that will likely go to Josh Samanski or Owen Michaels in the interim. While the 31-year-old center has reached the 30-point threshold twice in his career, he may be hard-pressed to repeat those numbers in 2026-27, especially if his injury lingers too long into the season.

  • Sam Morton C | CGY

Flames' Sam Morton: Bound for minors

Morton was placed on waivers by Calgary on Friday.

Morton has just four games of NHL experience under his belt, including three contests last year. Without a clear path to the NHL roster, Morton figures to remain a relative non-factor in fantasy contests.

  • Rory Kerins C | CGY

Flames' Rory Kerins: Lands on waivers Friday

Kerins was placed on waivers by the Flames on Friday for the purpose of assignment to AHL Calgary.

Kerins has spent most of the past two years in the AHL, most recently recording 22 goals and 35 assists across 56 regular-season appearances with the Wranglers during the 2025-26 campaign. He remained with the Flames during the offseason on a one-year, two-way contract he signed in late June, and he'll head back to the minors as long as he clears waivers.

  • Ben Jones C | CGY

Flames' Ben Jones: Placed on waivers

Jones was placed on waivers by the Flames on Friday for the purpose of assignment to AHL Calgary.

Jones has seen some time at the NHL level in each of the last two seasons, most recently recording a goal, two assists, 58 hits and 11 blocked shots while averaging 8:50 of ice time across 28 regular-season appearances with the Wild. He joined the Flames on a one-year, two-way contract during the offseason and will begin the year in the minors if he clears waivers, but he could provide depth for the NHL club if the team deals with injuries at some point during the 2026-27 campaign.
