  • Johnny Newton DT | WAS

Commanders' Jer'Zhan Newton: Steady production in Year 2

Newton recorded 38 total tackles (21 solo), including 5.0 sacks, while also adding a pass defensed and a forced fumble over 17 contests during the 2025 regular season.

Newton was able to play in all 17 of the team's regular-season contests, securing at least 38 takedowns for the second straight year. The defensive lineman secured a new career-high 5.0 sacks, most of which came in Week 17 against the Cowboys, registering nine total tackles, including 3.0 sacks, in the team's 30-23 loss to Dallas. Newton will likely enter the 2026 campaign as a top reserve option behind Daron Payne and Javon Kinlaw at defensive tackle.

  • Will Harris DB | WAS

Commanders' Will Harris: Limited by injuries in 2025

Harris recorded 38 total tackles (22 solo), including 1.0 sacks, while also adding three passes defensed and a forced fumble over nine games during the 2025 regular season.

Harris joined the Commanders as a free agent ahead of the 2025 campaign, inking a two-year, $8 million contract. The safety suffered a fractured fibula in Week 3 against the Raiders, ultimately missing eight games as a result. Harris was still able to register at least 38 takedowns for the fifth time in his seven-year career, while his sack of J.J. McCarthy in Week 14 was his first full sack since 2019. The 30-year-old appears to be on track to operate as one of the team's starting safeties again in 2026.

  • Jonathan Jones DB | PHI

Commanders' Jonathan Jones: Strong production in 2025

Jones recorded 41 total tackles (30 solo), including 1.0 sacks, while also adding five passes defensed over 12 games during the 2025 regular season.

Jones signed with the Commanders in the offseason after spending the first nine seasons of his career in New England. The cornerback missed four contests in late September and early October with a hamstring injury, but once healthy, he put together a rather productive campaign. Jones was able to secure at least 41 tackles for the fourth straight year and eighth time overall, while his sack of Tua Tagovailoa in Week 11 was his first sack since 2018. The 32-year-old is set to enter the offseason as a free agent, but considering his long track record of strong production, he'll likely have plenty of interested suitors ahead of the 2026 season.

  • Javon Kinlaw DT | WAS

Commanders' Javon Kinlaw: Sets new career high in tackles

Kinlaw recorded 43 total tackles (24 solo) and a forced fumble over 17 contests during the 2025 regular season.

Kinlaw joined the Commanders ahead of the 2025 campaign, inking a three-year, $45 million contract with the team. The defensive tackle was able to secure a career-high 43 takedowns on the season, finishing behind only Daron Payne (46) on Washington's defensive line. Kinlaw has now played in all 17 of his team's regular-season contests in each of the last three campaigns, and he'll look to continue his productive run in 2026.

  • Daron Payne NT | WAS

Commanders' Daron Payne: Steady production in 2025

Payne recorded 46 total tackles (20 solo), including 3.0 sacks, while also adding five passes defensed and a forced fumble over 15 games during the 2025 regular season.

Payne maintained his consistent level of production in his eighth campaign in Washington, securing at least 3.0 sacks for the sixth straight year and seventh time overall. The defensive lineman had appeared in every regular-season contest with the team in each of the last five years, but he was forced to miss two games in 2025, one due to a suspension and the other as a result of a back injury. Payne will enter the 2026 campaign in the final year of his four-year, $90 million contract with the Commanders.

  • Jordan Magee LB | WAS

Commanders' Jordan Magee: Increased production in Year 2

Magee recorded 54 total tackles (31 solo) and a pass defensed over 17 games during the 2025 regular season.

Magee was limited to 24 total defensive snaps over the team's first six contests of the year, but he then saw an expanded role as a rotational linebacker, playing no fewer than 14 snaps on defense in the team's remaining 11 regular-season games. As a result, the 24-year-old was able to finish sixth on Washington's defense in total takedowns, far exceeding the nine total tackles he compiled in his rookie campaign in 2024. With starting outside linebacker Von Miller entering the offseason as a free agent, Magee could have a chance to step into a starting role next year.

  • Tyreek Hill WR | MIA

Tyreek Hill: Vows to continue playing career

Hill (knee) announced Monday via his personal Instagram account that he plans to continue his playing career, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Hill suffered a gruesome knee injury in Week 4 of last season and required surgery to repair a dislocated knee and multiple torn ligaments. Afterward, Hill suggested he would have to contemplate whether to continue his playing career. He seems to have made a decision and will return to game action, though it's unclear when he'll be 100 percent healthy. Turning 32 years old in 13 days, Hill was released by the Dolphins on Monday and is eligible to sign elsewhere immediately. Interested teams will obviously need to do extensive medical checks on the veteran wideout.

  • Ronnie Hickman SAF | CLE

Browns' Ronnie Hickman: Suffers minor injuries from assault

In a statement released by the Browns on Monday, the team announced Hickman was the victim of an assault early Monday morning and was treated for minor injuries at a New York City hospital, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.

Hickman has already been released from the hospital and is at home recovering, the Browns added in their statement. It doesn't sound like the safety is dealing with anything serious. Hickman started all 17 regular-season games for Cleveland during the 2025 campaign and finished with a career-high 103 tackles (51 solo) and seven pass breakups, including two interceptions.

  • James Daniels: Tenure in Miami ends

The Dolphins are releasing Daniels (pectoral) on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Daniels inked a three-year deal with Miami last offseason, but a pectoral injury limited him to just three total offensive snaps with the team in 2025. The veteran guard previously missed most of the 2024 campaign with Pittsburgh due to an Achilles tear, so even if he's now considered healthy, any suitors in free agency will want to be mindful of potential durability concerns.

  • Nick Westbrook-Ikhine: Let go by Miami

The Dolphins released Westbrook-Ikhine on Monday.

Westbrook-Ikhine logged an impressive 2024 campaign with the Titans, totaling a 32-497-9 line while playing all 17 regular-season games, but across 15 regular-season appearances with the Dolphins in 2025 he secured just 11 of 20 targets for 89 scoreless yards. The veteran wideout, who will turn 29 in March, will now look for a chance to compete for a depth role elsewhere in the league.
