Lavonte David LB | TB
Buccaneers' Lavonte David: Slowed by knee injury
David (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
David had a big impact in Tampa Bay's Week 15 loss to the Falcons, though the fact that he was sidelined nearly a week later is concerning. His status for Sunday's pivotal divisional matchup against the Panthers is unclear.

Charlie Smyth K | NO
Saints' Charlie Smyth: Set to be signed to active roster
Smyth is expected to be signed to the Saints' active roster this week, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Smyth has been elevated from the practice squad to serve as the team's starting kicker each of the last three weeks, going 4-for-5 on field-goal attempts, including a 56-yard make. The 24-year-old has now exhausted all three of his elevations and in order to appear in another contest, the team will have to officially sign him to the active roster, which head coach Kellen Moore stated is coming in the near future.

Jonathan Greenard LB | PHI
Vikings' Jonathan Greenard: Placed on injured reserve
The Vikings placed Greenard (shoulder) on injured reserve Wednesday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
Head coach Kevin O'Connell told reporters Wednesday that Greenard would undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, and the latter's placement on injured reserve confirms that he will be sidelined for the rest of the 2025 campaign. The veteran linebacker will shift his focus into progressing enough in his recovery to be fully healthy for the start of the 2026 season.

Javon Hargrave NT | GB
Vikings' Javon Hargrave: Sidelined by thigh injury
Hargrave (thigh) did not practice Wednesday.
Hargrave suffered what was termed a groin injury in Sunday night's win over the Cowboys. While he was sidelined with a thigh injury Wednesday, the issue is presumably the same. Hargrave's status looks to be in jeopardy for Sunday's matchup against the Giants.

Ty Chandler RB | NO
Vikings' Ty Chandler: Logs another full practice
Chandler (knee) logged a full practice Wednesday.
Chandler has been practicing for most of December after he was designated to return from injured reserve. The running back is uncertain to be activated ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Giants, but if he is, he would likely see most of his playing time on special teams.
-
Josh Metellus SAF | MIN
Vikings' Josh Metellus: Officially placed on IR
The Vikings placed Metellus (shoulder) on injured reserve Wednesday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
Metellus will undergo surgery to repair a shoulder injury with which he has played through for the Vikings' last two games, and his placement on IR confirms that he will miss the final three games of the regular season. The sixth-year safety will turn his attention toward rehabbing from his procedure and being fully healthy for the start of training camp in July of 2026.
-
Justin Reid S | NO
Saints' Justin Reid: Limited practice Wednesday
Reid (knee) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday.
Reid has been sidelined for the team's last two contests while dealing with a knee issue, but his ability to practice in any capacity to open the week is a positive sign for his chances to play in Week 16. The safety will have two more chances to log a full practice prior to Sunday's matchup with the Jets.

DaRon Bland CB | DAL
Cowboys' DaRon Bland: Dealing with foot injury
Bland did not practice Wednesday due to a foot injury, Clarence Hill Jr. of AllDLLS.com reports.
Bland likely picked up the injury during Dallas' Week 15 loss to Minnesota, when he tallied four tackles (two solo) and one pass defense while playing 54 of 55 defensive snaps (98.2 percent). The fourth-year corner has two more chances to return to practice ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers.
-
Trevon Diggs CB | GB
Cowboys' Trevon Diggs: Limited practice Wednesday
Diggs (knee) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Clarence Hill Jr. of AllDLLS.com reports.
Diggs has continued to participate at practice since being designated to return from injured reserve Nov. 30, but he has yet to be activated. The cornerback is approaching the end of his 21-day practice window, and if he's not activated in Week 16, he'll remain sidelined for the rest of the year.

Quinnen Williams DT | DAL
Cowboys' Quinnen Williams: Dealing with concussion
Williams (concussion) did not participate at practice Wednesday, Clarence Hill Jr. of AllDLLS.com reports.
Williams is dealing with a concussion that he suffered late in the team's Week 15 loss to the Vikings, and his absence at practice to open the week doesn't come as a surprise. The defensive lineman will have to clear concussion protocol and therefore is fighting an uphill battle to being available for Week 16. Williams will have two more chances to return to practice prior to Sunday's contest against the Chargers.
