  • Jordan Addison WR | MIN

Vikings' Jordan Addison: Practicing in no-contact jersey

Addison (concussion) is at Monday's practice in a no-contact jersey, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.

It's a step forward after coach Kevin O'Connell revealed last Wednesday that Addison had entered concussion protocol. The rookie is still in the protocol but at least has made enough progress to participate in a light practice. Addison caught one pass for 22 yards in Minnesota's preseason opener, and regardless of whether or not that ends up being his final appearance in August, he's well on his way to playing Week 1 at Tampa Bay (Sept. 10).

  • Steelers' Aron Cruickshank: Picked up by Pittsburgh

Cruickshank signed a contract with the Steelers on Monday, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Cruickshank, an undrafted free agent, was recently waived by the Bears. He was one of the top special-teams performers in the Big Ten during his collegiate career at Rutgers. Now, he will look to make an impression in Pittsburgh.

  • Giants' Collin Johnson: Returns to practice

Johnson (knee) will practice Monday, Bob Brookover of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Johnson has been out of action since suffering a knee injury during a preseason loss to the Lions on Aug. 11. He'll now work to make the best of his remaining time to make the team's final 53-man roster, although the 25-year-old is likely facing an uphill battle to do so.

  • Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: Catches TD versus Packers

Boutte caught both of his targets for 49 yards (including a 42-yard TD) in Saturday's preseason contest against the Packers.

Per Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site, Boutte turned in a strong showing during joint practices with Green Bay ahead of the contest. As Week 1 approaches, the 2023 sixth-rounder is looking to secure a spot in a WR corps that's led by JuJu Smith-Schuster, DeVante Parker and Kendrick Bourne, with Tyquan Thornton also in the mix. Meanwhile, fellow rookie Demario Douglas has been making a strong case for a role in New England's pass-catching corps in 2023, so Boutte will need to maintain his momentum ahead of cut-downs in order to earn a spot on the team's initial 53-man roster.

  • Malik Heath WR | ATL

Packers' Malik Heath: Makes mark again

Heath was targeted five times and caught five passes for 75 yards in Saturday's 21-17 preseason loss to the Patriots.

The undrafted free agent has not played like one since linking up with the Packers over the offseason, and his showing in the second exhibition contest certainly did nothing to damage his chances of coming away with a roster spot when final cuts are made in just over a week.

  • Grant DuBose WR | BUF

Packers' Grant DuBose: Gets into first game

DuBose was targeted four times and caught two passes for 27 yards in Saturday's 21-17 preseason loss to the Patriots.

DuBose did not suit up for Green Bay's preseason opener while working his way back from an unspecified injury, but he was able to take the field in his team's second exhibition contest and make a mark. DuBose will have one more chance to show what he can do in a game setting before the Packers decide whether or not to break camp with him on the roster.

  • Patriots' Kendrick Bourne: Three catches Saturday

Bourne caught three of his four targets for 34 yards during Saturday's preseason contest against the Packers.

Per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, coach Bill Belichick noted of Bourne on Monday that the wideout "had a good spring. That spring led into having a good training camp. He's done very well in all phases -- played multiple spots, caught the ball well, blocked well." As the coming season approaches, Bourne has a chance to claim a key role in a New England WR corps that also features JuJu Smith-Schuster, DeVante Parker and Tyquan Thornton, who missed Saturday's game with an undisclosed injury. From a fantasy perspective though, Bourne's target volume could fluctuate as long as his fellow key pass catchers remain healthy, while working in an offense that could lean heavily on RBs Rhamondre Stevenson and Ezekiel Elliott.

  • Chargers' Quentin Johnston: Another good showing Sunday

Johnston caught all three of his targets for 37 yards in Sunday's preseason loss to the Saints.

The 21st overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft once again looked the part, as Johnston hauled in passes of 16 and 15 yards from Easton Stick in the first half -- the latter of which helped set up the Chargers' first points of the game midway through the second quarter. Johnston has yet to work with Justin Herbert in a game, and he'll be behind Keenan Allen and Mike Williams in the pecking order when the regular season begins, but the big-bodied TCU product has a chance to make an impact as a rookie in the Bolts' high-powered passing attack.

  • A.T. Perry WR | PIT

Saints' A.T. Perry: Three grabs Sunday

Perry caught three of five targets for 22 yards in Sunday's preseason win over the Chargers.

The 2023 sixth-round pick out of Wake Forest couldn't follow up his huge showing in the Saints' preseason opener, with his longest catch going for only nine yards. Perry remains in a fight for a depth spot in the receiving corps, but he did get the start Sunday with New Orleans resting all its regular skill players, and he was on the other end of Jameis Winston's first completion. The rookie will get one more chance to separate himself from the pack in preseason action Sunday, Aug. 27 against the Texans.

  • Ben Skowronek WR | PIT

Rams' Ben Skowronek: Secures two grabs in loss

Skowronek secured both of his targets for 25 yards during Saturday's 34-17 preseason loss to the Raiders.

The veteran was on the field for only 17 snaps on offense but made a nice 18-yard grab in the second quarter as part of an eight-play drive that led to a Tanner Brown field goal. Skowronek has seemingly fallen down the depth chart, as both Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell were held out Saturday, a sign that the Rams are protecting the duo for significant roles in the regular season. The third-year wideout will be competing with Tyler Johnson, Demarcus Robinson, and Lance McCutcheon for one of the final few wide receiver spots on the Rams' 53-man roster.
