  • Albert Okwuegbunam: Cut by Las Vegas

The Raiders released Okwuegbunam on Tuesday.

Okwuegbunam caught on with the Raiders in early August after being let go by the Colts on July 31, and across Las Vegas' three preseason games he logged three catches (on five targets) for 24 yards. The 2020 fourth-rounder wasn't able to grab a spot on the Raiders' 53-man roster, but he could stay in Las Vegas as a member of the team's practice squad.

  • Luke Lachey TE | HOU

Luke Lachey: Casualty of cutdown day

The Texans waived Lachey on Tuesday.

Houston selected Lachey in the seventh round of April's NFL Draft, and he caught five of six targets for 21 yards over three preseason games. Per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, Lachey will likely land on the Texans' practice squad if he clears waivers.

  • Irv Smith TE | HOU

Texans' Irv Smith: Placed on season-ending IR

The Texans placed Smith (ankle) on injured reserve Tuesday.

Smith is dealing with an ankle sprain, which he may have picked up during the Texans' preseason finale against the Lions on Saturday. He was placed on IR without a designation to return, meaning he'll be forced to miss the entire 2025 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Texans.

  • Harrison Bryant: Released by Texans

The Texans released Bryant on Tuesday.

Bryant played 13 games with the Raiders last season and posted nine catches (12 targets) for 86 yards. He signed with the Eagles in March and was subsequently traded to the Texans on Aug. 17 in a deal that had John Metchie going the other way. However, Bryant couldn't carve out a role, so the Texans' initial 53-man roster will feature tight ends Dalton Schultz and Cade Stover.

  • Keleki Latu TE | BUF

Keleki Latu: Shown door by Buffalo

The Bills waived Latu on Tuesday.

Latu -- an undrafted rookie -- and fifth-year tight end Zach Davidson were let go Tuesday, while rookie fifth-round pick Jackson Hawes made the 53-man roster as the No. 3 tight end behind Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox. Latu may secure a practice-squad spot if he clears waivers.

  • Zach Davidson TE | NYG

    Zach Davidson: Cut by Bills

The Bills waived Davidson on Tuesday.

A 2021 fifth-round pick, Davidson spent the 2024 season on the Bills' practice squad and was elevated to the active roster three times, catching one of two targets for five yards. Davidson can play on special teams, so he's a candidate to stick around on the practice squad in case of injuries during the season.

  • Lawrence Cager TE | WAS

    Lawrence Cager: Dropped by Washington

Cager was cut by the Commanders on Tuesday, Zach Selby of the team's official website reports.

Cager recorded four catches for 54 yards while appearing in two preseason games with Washington. The tight end will look for another opportunity, and he will now likely have to settle for a practice squad spot ahead of the 2025 season.

  • Patrick Herbert: Parts ways with Jacksonville

The Jaguars waived Herbert on Tuesday.

Herbert inked a contract with Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent in late April and caught two of five targets for 11 yards during the team's three-game preseason schedule. He's a candidate for a spot on the club's practice squad.

  • John Copenhaver: Unable to land roster spot

    Jacksonville waived Copenhaver on Tuesday.

Copenhaver joined the Jags as an undrafted free agent in late April and caught his only target for six yards over three preseason games. He'll likely look to land a spot on a club's practice squad.

  • Stephen Carlson: Released by Bears

    Chicago released Carlson on Tuesday.

Carlson is healthy after having missed all of the 2024 season due to a collarbone injury, but he's now among a number of cuts made by the Bears to get down to a 53-man roster. The 28-year-old will likely look to resurface on a practice squad, whether with the Bears or elsewhere in the league.
