  • Tyler Goodson RB | ATL

Colts' Tyler Goodson: Just one carry in win

Goodson had one carry for three yards in Sunday's win over the Raiders.

Goodson payed just three snaps on offense as the Colts had a large lead most of the game and didn't need a pass catcher to relieve Jonathan Taylor. Instead, Trey Sermon played 18 snaps and had five carries for 32 yards mostly late in the game when Taylor was briefly sidelined.

  • Trey Sermon RB | PIT

Colts' Trey Sermon: Has 32 yards rushing in win

Sermon had five carries for 32 yards and two receptions for nine yards on two targets in Sunday's win over the Raiders.

Sermon played 18 snaps on offense as he got playing time late in the game when Jonathan Taylor was briefly banged up. Sermon looks set to be the primary ball carrier behind Taylor with Zack Moss (forearm) out, while Tyler Goodson works in a pass-catching role among the backup running backs.

  • Jaguars' D'Ernest Johnson: Diminishing role

Johnson had three carries for zero yards and returned one kickoff for 22 yards during Sunday's 26-0 win against Carolina.

Jacksonville running backs received 29 carries in Sunday's blowout, with both Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby in double digits. Johnson played just 12 offensive snaps and may have dropped to No. 3 on the backfield depth chart.

  • Tank Bigsby RB | PHI

Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Totals 32 yards in win

Bigsby carried 10 times for 32 yards and wasn't targeted during Sunday's 26-0 win against the Panthers.

The rookie third-round pick entered the contest having played just six offensive snaps over the previous five games, but he tallied a career-high 10 carries as Jacksonville dominated Sunday from start to finish. Bigsby out-snapped D'Ernest Johnson, 17-12, and may have reclaimed the No. 2 job in the Jaguars backfield heading into Week 18.

  • Keaontay Ingram: Back to practice squad

The Chiefs reverted Ingram to the practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Ingram was called up as insurance for the Chiefs with Isiah Pacheco (concussion/shoulder) and Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) listed as questionable ahead of Week 17. Although Edwards-Helaire didn't end up playing, Pacheco was able to suit up and the team opted to keep Ingram on the sidelines with La'Mical Perine operating as the RB2.

  • 49ers' Christian McCaffrey: Won't play in Week 18

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that McCaffrey is dealing with a mild right calf strain and won't play Sunday against the Rams, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

With the 49ers having clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC, the team has no reason to play McCaffrey in Week 18 at less than 100 percent health. The star running back thus will target a return to action in the divisional round of the playoffs following the 49ers' first-round bye. With McCaffrey not in line to face Los Angeles this weekend, Elijah Mitchell and Jordan Mason are available to handle the team's backfield duties, while Tyrion Davis-Price is a candidate to be promoted from San Francisco's practice squad.

  • Broncos' Jaleel McLaughlin: Set for increased workload

McLaughlin is expected to have an increased workload Week 18 against Las Vegas, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.

McLaughlin actually started at running back over Javonte Williams against the Chargers in Week 17, though Williams ended up with 31 offensive snaps to McLaughlin's 19. Nonetheless, McLaughlin put together the better performance, outrushing Williams, 44-41 yards, despite getting seven fewer carries. The running backs had an almost identical receiving line (3-18-0 for McLaughlin, and 3-17-0 for Williams), and both should play roles in Denver's season finale against the Raiders on Sunday. The Broncos have been eliminated from playoff contention, and with McLaughlin outperforming Williams of late, there appears to be a chance that the former gets more of the workload this weekend.

  • Jordan Mason RB | MIN

49ers' Jordan Mason: Relegated to third RB

Mason had two carries for three yards and was not targeted as a receiver in Sunday's 27-10 win over Washington.

Mason was relegated to third on San Francisco's RB depth chart following the return of Elijah Mitchell (knee) on Sunday. The latter wound up posting a strong rushing line (17-80-1) against the Commanders in relief of Christian McCaffrey (calf). McCaffrey's injury currently is considered minor, but the MVP candidate still could sit out Week 18 with the 49ers already locking up the No. 1 seed in the NFC. In that scenario, Mason would slide into the No. 2 role with Mitchell likely serving as the team's lead back to close out the regular season against the Rams.

  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

Saints' Alvin Kamara: Severity of ankle sprain uncertain

Saints head coach Dennis Allen didn't clarify the severity of Kamara's ankle sprain but said the running back was rehabbing the injury Monday, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.

Kamara suffered an ankle sprain in Sunday's victory over Tampa Bay and wasn't able to play in the second half. The Saints need a win over Atlanta on Sunday to have a chance of qualifying for the postseason, but it's uncertain if he'll be able to suit up for the contest. Kamara's chances of playing should become clearer as Week 18 prep unfolds, and if he isn't able to take the field, Jamaal Williams would likely take over the bulk of the work in the Saints backfield.

  • Deuce Vaughn RB | DEN

Cowboys' Deuce Vaughn: Three touches against Detroit

Vaughn carried the ball twice for two yards and caught his only target for 10 yards in a Week 17 win over the Lions.

With Rico Dowdle (ankle) unavailable, Vaughn stepped in as the backup to Tony Pollard and saw a modest workload in a 20-19 victory. It was still the rookie's highest touch volume since Week 5, as the diminutive speedster has been inactive for all but two games since then. The Cowboys will be looking to lock up the NFC East title Week 18, so Vaughn figures to see minimal involvement again even if Dowdle sits out a second straight game.
