De'Von Achane RB | MIA
Dolphins' De'Von Achane: Inks four-year, $68M extension
The Dolphins signed Achane to a four-year, $68 million contract extension Wednesday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
Achane was headed into the final year of his rookie deal, and new GM Jon-Eric Sullivan and coach Jeff Hafley had been adamant that the talented running back is a building block of the future in Miami, even after the Dolphins shed salary this offseason. Achane's new deal will pay him $17 million per year in new money, making him the league's third-highest-paid running back behind Saquon Barkley and Christian McCaffrey. Achane started all 16 regular-season games in which he appeared last season, totaling a career-high 1,350 rushing yards and eight touchdown on 238 carries, averaging a league-high 5.8 yards per carry. He added 67 catches for 488 yards and four additional touchdowns on 85 targets in the passing game. Achane is still just 24 years old and figures to be a top-12 fantasy pick this season.

Bucky Irving RB | TB
Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Shoulder injury still lingering
The Buccaneers announced Tuesday that Irving (shoulder) may not be fully cleared for the start of OTAs, Andrew Harbaugh of USA Today reports.
Irving missed seven games from Week 2 to Week 12 due to a combination of shoulder and foot/ankle injuries in 2025. Though he returned for Tampa Bay's final six regular-season games, the 2024 fourth-rounder shared snaps with Sean Tucker (re-signed) and Rachaad White (signed with Commanders) and never quite looked fully healthy. The shoulder injury required an offseason procedure to address and Irving isn't yet cleared to practice, though Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports that his rehab is proceeding on schedule. Per Auman, Irving is expected to be limited during OTAs, which will take place between late May and early June, before being fully cleared for the start of training camp in July. Presumably, he will also be limited at mandatory minicamp from June 16-18. Tampa Bay added Kenneth Gainwell to the backfield via a two-year, $14 million contract in free agency, positioning Irving to face increased competition for touches, especially for change-of-pace work and third-down scenarios.

Deuce Vaughn RB | DEN
Deuce Vaughn: Let go by Denver
The Broncos waived Vaughn on Tuesday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Vaughn's time in Denver has come to an end after having signed a reserve/future contract with the team in January. The 24-year-old has 110 career rushing yards on 40 carries to go along with 10 catches for 58 yards, all of it coming with the Cowboys in 2023-24.

Le'Veon Moss RB | MIA
Dolphins' Le'Veon Moss: Announces retirement
The Dolphins placed Moss on the reserve/retired list Tuesday.
Moss' short NFL career has come to an end, as he'd had just joined the team as an undrafted free agent last month. He spent his collegiate career at Texas A&M, carrying the ball 321 times for 1,767 yards and 22 touchdowns across four seasons with the Aggies.

Carlos Washington Jr. RB | MIA
Carlos Washington: Let go by Atlanta
The Falcons waived Washington on Monday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports.
Washington spent 2025 on the Falcons' practice squad, being elevated for the season opener against the Buccaneers before returning to the practice squad for the rest of the season. The running back's few NFL snaps were spent on special teams. Washington will become a free agent if he clears waivers.
-
Noah Short: Let go by Buccaneers
The Buccaneers waived undrafted free agent Short on Monday, Brianna Dix of the team's official site reports.
Short participated in the Buccaneers' rookie minicamp this weekend, but it appears his skill set will not be retained. With the signing of wide receiver Dean Patterson after rookie minicamp, it's clear the team is headed in a different direction to address wide receiver depth concerns ahead of the 2026 regular season.

Owen Wright RB | TB
Owen Wright: Let go by Tampa Bay
The Buccaneers waived Wright on Monday, Brianna Dix of the team's official site reports.
Wright played in three games for the Buccaneers in 2025, contributing six yards on three rushes and 73 yards as a kick returner. The running back signed a reserve/future contract with the team in early January, but it looks like he will not be making it to training camp and will likely find himself back on a practice squad ahead of the 2026 regular season.

Ja'Quinden Jackson RB | JAC
Ja'Quinden Jackson: Let go by Jacksonville
The Jaguars waived Jackson on Monday.
Jackson spent the 2025 season on the Jaguars' practice squad but was never elevated for a game. The running back signed a reserve/future contract with the team in January but will not be on the roster for training camp as things currently stand. If the 24-year-old clears waivers, he will become a free agent able to sign with any team.

Ameer Abdullah RB | JAC
Jaguars' Ameer Abdullah: Signs with Jaguars
Jacksonville signed Abdullah to a contract Monday.
Abdullah, who is now heading into his age-33 campaign, suited up for 13 regular-season games with Indianapolis in 2025, totaling 14 carries for 60 yards and one touchdown and 16 catches for 99 yards (on 17 targets). He also handled 137 snaps on special teams for the Colts and racked up 563 kick-return yards. The veteran will compete with DeeJay Dallas and LeQuint Allen to carve out a similar role with the Jaguars.

Michael Wiley RB | TB
Michael Wiley: Waived with injury designation
The Buccaneers waived Wiley (undisclosed) on Saturday with a non-football injury designation, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
Wiley spent time on Tampa Bay's practice squad in 2025 and inked a reserve/future contract with the team in January, but with roster spots at a premium in order to pursue undrafted free agents in the wake of the 2026 NFL Draft, he finds himself in need of a new team. Once recovered from his undisclosed injury, Wiley will search for a chance to compete for a reserve role elsewhere. He's still looking for a chance to make his regular-season debut.
