Montrell Johnson Jr. RB | CAR
Montrell Johnson: Waived by Philly
Johnson was waived by the Eagles on Tuesday.
Johnson impressed during the preseason, producing 77 rushing yards and a touchdown on 21 carries, while also adding two kickoff returns for 47 yards over two contests. The running back signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in April after a collegiate career at Florida, and if he clears waivers, he may stick around as a member of the team's practice squad.

Jacob Saylors RB | DET
Jacob Saylors: Bumped to waivers
The Lions waived Saylors on Tuesday.
Saylors has bounced around on practice squads since entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2023. The 24-year-old running back handled a team-high 11 touches in the second preseason game, turning them into 49 yards. Saylors was always a longshot for the 53-man roster, but he has a decent chance to stick around on the practice squad.

Deon Jackson RB | DET
Deon Jackson: Drops to waivers
The Lions waived Jackson on Tuesday.
Jackson hasn't played since suiting up in four games across the Browns, Colts and Giants in 2023. The Duke product posted the third-most rushing yards (417) in the UFL this spring. The 26-year-old will be a practice-squad candidate.

Chris Collier RB | LV
Chris Collier: Dropped by Las Vegas
Collier was waived by the Raiders on Tuesday.
Collier led the team in rushing during the preseason, turning 15 carries into 72 yards, while also adding a 32-yard kickoff return over three contests. The running back will now be subject to waivers, but if he goes unclaimed, there's a good chance that he sticks around Las Vegas as a member of the team's practice squad.

Jawhar Jordan RB | HOU
Jawhar Jordan: Doesn't make roster
Houston waived Jordan on Tuesday.
Jordan was a sixth-round selection by the Texans in the 2024 NFL Draft. He didn't get into any regular-season games last year, as he spent most of the campaign on Houston's practice squad. Jordan was the Texans' leading rusher during the preseason slate, tallying 88 yards on 24 carries, though that's an average of just 3.7 YPC. He's a logical candidate for the team's practice squad if he clears waivers.

Kazmeir Allen RB | WAS
Kazmeir Allen: Dropped by Washington
Allen was waived by the Commanders on Tuesday, Zach Selby of the team's official website reports.
Allen turned 11 carries into 45 yards while also adding nine kickoff returns for 229 yards and a punt return for two yards over three preseason contests with Washington. If the running back clears waivers, there's a good chance he sticks around as a member of the Commanders' practice squad.

Nay'Quan Wright RB | IND
Nay'Quan Wright: Fails to make 53-man squad
The Colts waived Wright on Tuesday, Amanda Foster of the team's official site reports.
Wright signed with the Colts on Aug. 8 to replace the injured Salvon Ahmed (knee). Wright played in Indianapolis' preseason finale against Cincinnati on Saturday and finished with six carries for 27 yards. The South Florida product will likely clear waivers, at which point he'll look to sign with a team's practice squad as a depth running back.

Frank Gore Jr. RB | BUF
Frank Gore: Cut by Buffalo
Gore was waived by the Bills on Tuesday.
Gore was cut by the Bills for the second straight season after entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2024. The Southern Miss product will be a candidate for the practice squad once again.

Brittain Brown RB | CHI
Brittain Brown: Hits waivers Tuesday
The Bears waived Brown on Tuesday.
Brown spent roughly the last two weeks with Chicago, providing the team depth during the preseason and training camp, but he never seemed to have a real shot at making the 53-man roster. The last time Brown suited up for regular-season action was as a rookie with the Raiders in 2022, when he appeared in six games and handled 61 total snaps on special teams.

Kevin Harris RB | JAC
Kevin Harris: Let go on cutdown day
The Jaguars waived Harris on Tuesday.
Harris signed with Jacksonville on Aug. 19 and played in the team's final preseason game, recording 25 yards on seven carries along with 17 yards on three catches. His most recent regular-season action came in 2023, when he played in four contests with the Patriots and logged 16 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown along with three catches on three targets for 58 yards.
