Jacquizz Rodgers RB | NO
Buccaneers' Jacquizz Rodgers: Gets bulk of backfield work Saturday
Rodgers rushed 10 times for 34 yards and brought in his lone target for 17 yards in Saturday's 13-9 preseason loss to the Browns.
Rodgers paced the Bucs backfield in both carries and yards, with head coach Dirk Koetter seemingly looking to get him ready for a lead back role to open the season while Doug Martin serves out his suspension. Rodgers came in eager for what he anticipated would be a larger workload Saturday and will look to duplicate his productive multi-week run as a starter from last season in the first three games of 2017.

Jonathan Williams RB | WAS
Bills' Jonathan Williams: Sparse use Saturday
Williams did not record a carry or catch in Saturday's preseason game in Baltimore, and barely saw the field.
Most likely, the team eased Williams back into action following a minor knee injury during the week. He still suited up, and appears to be locked into the No. 2 role to begin the season. We'll note that Mike Tolbert scored the Bills' only touchdown on the night, a theme that could carry into the regular season and take away from LeSean McCoy and Williams hitting pay dirt as frequently as they otherwise might.

Marlon Mack RB | ARI
Colts' Marlon Mack: Mixed bag in second preseason game
Mack had seven carries for 18 yards and one reception for 17 yards in Saturday's preseason win over Pittsburgh.
While he wasn't as impressive as his first preseason game last week (five carries for 45 yards), Mack still showed a spark on several runs and was used in third-down situations with the first-team offense. He'll enter the season in the mix behind starter Frank Gore, but could find a small role initially. He's showed in the preseason he may have the most upside of any of the backups if Gore were to get hurt.
-
Chris Johnson RB | ARI
Cardinals' Chris Johnson: Fumbles twice in Saturday's win
Johnson totaled 31 yards on six rushes in Saturday's 24-14 preseason win over the Falcons. He also committed two fumbles, losing one.
Johnson putting the ball on the ground twice was certainly disconcerting, although the veteran's spot as the primary backup to David Johnson wouldn't figure to be in any jeopardy. When he was hanging on to the football, Johnson was actually impressive, averaging 5.2 yards on his six totes. An 800-yard rusher in a part-time role as recently as 2015, the former Pro Bowler nevertheless figures to see limited opportunity in the coming campaign unless starter (David) Johnson were to miss time with injuries.

Jamaal Williams RB | NO
Packers' Jamaal Williams: Catches trio of passes
Williams gained four yards on three carries and 46 yards on three reception (three targets) in Saturday's preseason game against Denver.
While clearly on track for the top backup job, Williams hasn't done much to challenge starter Ty Montgomery, running for only 30 yards on 14 carries this preseason. Packers offensive coordinator Edgar Bennett hinted a few weeks ago that Williams' work in pass protection could get him on the field, but the rookie is no match for Montgomery when it comes to elusiveness and receiving ability. Green Bay's other two running backs from the 2017 draft, Aaron Jones and Devante Mays, hadn't done much of note this preseason until Jones ripped off a 28-yard gain Saturday night.

Donnel Pumphrey RB | DET
Eagles' Donnel Pumphrey: Totals 74 yards Thursday
Pumphrey ran the ball 12 times for 37 yards and caught all five of his targets for 37 more in the Eagles' third preseason game against the Dolphins.
Pumphrey has struggled since being drafted in June but showed improvement in this one. He contributed in multiple facets of the game and showed "real flash" for the first time this preseason, according to Reuben Frank of CSN Philadelphia. Because he was a fourth-round pick, the rookie is likely to make the 53-man roster, but until he adjusts to the pro game, he is more of an understudy to Darren Sproles than someone who is worthy of a roster spot in fantasy leagues.
-
Shaun Draughn RB | NYG
Giants' Shaun Draughn: Exits Saturday with concussion, neck injury
Draughn will not return to Saturday's tilt against the Jets due to a concussion and neck injury, James Kratch of NJ Advance Media reports.
Draught was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list Aug. 15 after recovering from summer ankle surgery. While the seriousness of either injury has yet to be disclosed, this certainly won't help his chances in competing for a roster spot.
-
Terrance West RB | BAL
Ravens' Terrance West: Plays one quarter
West gained 17 yards on five carries and six yards on one reception (two targets) in Saturday's preseason game against the Bills.
West got all his carries and targets on the first three drives, playing slightly more than a quarter in what likely will be his final appearance of the preseason. If so, he'll finish the exhibition slate with 16 carries for 38 yards and a touchdown, averaging only 2.4 yards per carry thanks to an an ugly showing last week against Miami. West is locked in as Baltimore's lead runner, though Danny Woodhead (hamstring) also figures to get plenty of snaps and Javorius Allen could have a small role.
-
Corey Clement RB | ARI
Eagles' Corey Clement: Scores from three yards out Thursday
Clement rushed nine times for 42 yards and a touchdown Thursday night versus the Dolphins to go with two catches for 11 yards.
The undrafted rookie has had an impressive preseason and is doing all he can to secure himself a roster spot. Whether he can most likely depends on the Eagles possibly keeping a fifth running back, as LeGarrette Blount, Darren Sproles, Wendell Smallwood and 2017 fourth-round pick Donnel Pumphrey are all virtual locks to make the team, according to Reuben Frank of CSN Philadelphia. Clement once again had the highest snap count of any Philadelphia running back, edging out Pumphrey 26-25 as the Eagles' coaching staff continues to evaluate the two.

Zach Zenner RB | NO
Lions' Zach Zenner: Out with undisclosed injury
Zenner didn't play in Friday's preseason game against the Patriots due to an undisclosed injury, Kyle Meinke of MLive Media Group reports.
This injury couldn't have come at much of a worse time for Zenner, as he's in the thick of a position battle for the No. 3 RB job with second-year tailback Dwayne Washington. To make matters worse, Washington found the end zone twice in Zenner's absence Friday and looks ready to take on added work.
