Kenjon Barner RB | TB
Falcons' Kenjon Barner: Added to injury report
Barner was limited in practice Thursday due to an ankle injury, William McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.
Barner's surprise appearance on the injury report makes his chances of suiting up Week 2 somewhat cloudy. He'll have one more opportunity to practice in full before Sunday's tilt against the Eagles. If Barner is forced to miss any time, expect Calvin Ridley to receive work returning kicks and Justin Hardy to return punts.

Jonathan Williams RB | WAS
Colts' Jonathan Williams: Limited in practice Thursday
Williams (ribs) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Williams sat out Week 1 due to a lingering ribs injury and isn't yet fully healthy, but his limited practice session is a step in the right direction. If he's able to suit up versus the Titans on Sunday, Williams will operate as the No. 3 running back behind Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines.

Joe Mixon RB | HOU
Bengals' Joe Mixon: Still not practicing
Mixon (ankle) was held out of Thursday's practice, Tyler Dragon of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Mixon emerged from Week 1 with a right ankle injury, and after an MRI came back clean, he was deemed "day-to-day" by coach Zac Taylor. That said, Mixon has yet to take the practice field this week, leaving him with one session to get in some reps before Sunday's game against the 49ers. If Mixon is unable to go, Giovani Bernard will lead the Bengals' backfield.

Nick Brossette RB | DET
Nick Brossette: Lands on practice squad
Brossette signed with the Lions' practice squad Thursday.
Brossette was waived by the Patriots to kick off September and now resurfaces in Detroit. His spot on the practice squad comes at the expense of fellow running back David Williams, who was released from the unit in a corresponding move.

Devin Singletary RB | NYG
Bills' Devin Singletary: Still No. 2 on paper
Coach Sean McDermott stated Wednesday that Frank Gore remains the team's top running back on the depth chart with Singletary as the No. 2, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports. "Frank Gore and then we bring in Devin [Singletary] and then we bring in TJ [Yeldon]," McDermott said, when asked about the team's starting running back.
Singletary outgained the veteran 70-20 in terms of yards on the ground, and he did it in just four carries to Gore's 20. Singletary was also on the field for 48 offensive snaps (the team had 69) to Gore's 19. The third-round rookie is also a lot quicker and more athletic than his 36-year-old teammate, so it may only be a matter of time before he passes the veteran on the depth chart. However, he'll still be seeing plenty of action even while McDermott gives Gore some regular work as part of a committee.

James Conner RB | ARI
Steelers' James Conner: Dealing with illness
Conner was limited at Wednesday's practice due to an illness, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
In the Steelers' Week 1 loss at New England, game flow necessitated that the offense abandon the run, which resulted in just 10 carries for 21 yards for Conner. Fortunately, his adeptness as a pass catcher salvaged his night somewhat, as he gathered in all four targets for 44 yards. If he's able to ditch the illness by Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, Conner may have a tough go of it against a Seahawks defense that contained the Bengals to 34 rushing yards in the season opener.

Trayveon Williams RB | CLE
Bengals' Trayveon Williams: Practice status limited
Williams (foot) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
While Williams isn't up to full speed yet, it appears he's trending in the right direction. According to Tyler Dragon of The Cincinnati Enquirer, the team plans to dress Williams for Sunday's game versus the 49ers. He would add valued depth to the team's backfield since Joe Mixon (ankle) may not be able to play.

Ezekiel Elliott RB | LAC
Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Gearing up for increased workload
Elliott is prepared for more touches Week 2 in Washington, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports. "I think I'm ready now for a normal workload. Just depends on how (running backs coach Gary Brown) and Kellen (Moore) and coach (Jason) Garrett are feeling on Sunday," Elliott said. "But if they ask me, I'll be able to go out there and do it."
After his holdout ended with a six-year, $90 million extension last Wednesday, Elliott wasn't a workhorse in his first action of the season, earning 37 of 68 offensive snaps (54 percent) in Sunday's win against the Giants. For comparison's sake, he logged less than 80 percent of the snaps on offense one time in 18 chances (including playoffs) in 2018. Elliott was reasonably efficient with his workload, turning 14 touches into 63 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown. Assuming the Week 2 game plan calls for increased snaps, he'll be a poised for a more familiar role and likely will push rookie Tony Pollard further out of the backfield mix.

Matt Dayes RB | NO
Matt Dayes: Jettisoned from IR
The Saints waived Dayes (undisclosed) from injured reserve Tuesday, freelance NFL writer Howard Balzer reports.
Dayes was simply going to be a reserve for the Saints, but he couldn't stay healthy in the preseason. If he clears waivers, Dayes will be able to sign with any team once healthy.
