  • Travis Homer RB | PIT

Seahawks' Travis Homer: Activated from COVID-19 list

Homer was removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday.

Homer's return could take some snaps/touches away from DeeJay Dallas, the other back Seattle has used on passing downs this year. Homer has 14 carries and 17 targets in 11 games, with his most impactful play being a 73-yard TD on a fake punt.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Clear for Week 16

Sanders (quadriceps) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Sanders was held out of practice all week due to a quad concern, but clearly the absences were maintenance related, as the issue won't keep him from suiting up for Week 16 action. If he's set to take on his usual allotment of snaps, he could be in line for a significant workload again after earning 47 touches in the Eagles' last two contests, which could yield fruit versus a Giants defense that has conceded 153.6 yards from scrimmage per game to running backs this season.

  • Giants' Gary Brightwell: Unavailable Sunday

Brightwell (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Brightwell suffered the neck injury last week against the Cowboys and will be sidelined for at least one game. Saquon Barkley (ankle) and Devontae Booker are the only other running backs on the active roster, so the Giants could add a back from the practice squad for depth purposes this weekend.

  • D'Andre Swift RB | CHI

Lions' D'Andre Swift: Chance to play Week 16

The Lions list Swift (shoulder) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons.

For the first time since suffering an AC joint sprain of his shoulder in the Lions' Thanksgiving Day loss to the Bears, Swift won't be ruled out ahead of the weekend, as he was prior to each of the Lions' last three games. Swift earned the questionable designation after he was a limited participant in practices Wednesday through Friday, a development that gives him a shot to play Sunday. Even if the Lions clear him to start in advance of the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, Swift could be in store for a lighter workload than he enjoyed in previous weeks, given that he's making his way back from injury in addition to the fact that Craig Reynolds has impressed the past two weeks while serving as Detroit's lead back. Jamaal Williams also is back from a two-game stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list, leaving the Detroit backfield more crowded compared to when Swift first sustained the injury.

  • Jaguars' James Robinson: Avoids injury designation

Robinson (knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Jets.

Robinson rested at Thursday's practice before returning as a full participant Friday, so he's ready to go for Week 16. The 23-year-old tied his season high with 21 touches last week and totaled 88 yards from scrimmage to go along with a touchdown.

  • Football Team's Antonio Gibson: Takes questionable tag into Week 16

Washington lists Gibson (toe) as questionable for Sunday's game in Dallas, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

After logging 21 touches for 65 yards from scrimmage in Tuesday's loss to the Eagles, Gibson didn't log any practice activity Wednesday through Friday while nursing the toe injury he sustained Week 15. Per Matthew Paras of The Washington Times, head coach Ron Rivera said Gibson is dealing with an injury similar to the turf toe issue the running back dealt with in 2020, which sidelined him for a pair of games. Washington remains hopeful that Gibson will be ready to go by the time Sunday arrives, but with the game kicking off at 8:20 p.m ET, fantasy managers planning on including him in weekly lineups could be in a bind if he winds up on the inactive list. Jaret Patterson is the next man up for touches out of the Washington backfield, while fellow reserve back Jonathan Williams also could see an enhanced role if Gibson is limited or sits out Week 16.

  • Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Not seen at practice Friday

Stevenson (illness) wasn't spotted at Friday's practice, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Given that he also was missing from practice Wednesday and Thursday, Stevenson's status for Sunday's game against the Bills is cloudy. Friday's upcoming injury report will reveal whether the running back heads into the weekend with a chance to suit up Week 16.

  • Titans' Jeremy McNichols: Leads Tennessee in rushing

McNichols recorded seven rushes for 31 yards in Thursday's 20-17 win over San Francisco.

McNichols finished second on the team with seven rushing attempts, with only D'Onta Foreman (nine carries) earning more opportunity. He was fairly efficient his work, posting four gains of five or more yards on the ground. Contrary to his encouraging work as a rusher, McNichols' role as a pass catcher out of the backfield evaporated nearly entirely -- he was targeted only once and did not record a reception. Given the return of A.J. Brown (chest), McNichols' volume in the passing attack may not return in the team's final two games this season. That makes McNichols a difficult option to rely upon given his lack of bankable volume in Tennessee's split backfield.

  • Jeff Wilson RB | MIA

49ers' Jeff Wilson: Stymied in Week 16 start

Wilson rushed 14 times for 45 yards and a touchdown and brought in all three targets for 12 yards in the 49ers' 20-17 loss to the Titans on Thursday night.

Wilson's night got off to an encouraging start when he capped off a nine-play, 75-yard opening drive with a one-yard touchdown run. He also garnered 14 total yards on three touches in the first three plays of San Francisco's second possession, but it was a mostly quiet night for Wilson thereafter against a Titans defense that had come into the contest allowing the fewest rushing yards per game of any team on its home field. Elijah Mitchell (concussion/knee) should have a chance to get back for the 49ers' Week 17 home date against the Texans a week from Sunday, a development that would almost certainly see Wilson revert to a modest complementary role.

  • D'Onta Foreman RB | CLE

Titans' D'Onta Foreman: Touchdown salvages poor performance

Foreman recorded nine carries for 17 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 20-17 win over San Francisco.

Foreman narrowly led the Titans' backfield by accounting for nine of the team's 24 rushing attempts. However, he was out-gained by both Jeremy McNichols and Dontrell Hilliard, with Foreman's longest rush of the day going for only eight yards. Adding to the disappointing effort was the fact that Foreman did not earn a target after posting multiple receptions in each of his last two contests. Even given all those negatives, Foreman managed to salvage his performance on a three-yard touchdown run midway through the third quarter. While the disappointing effort casts some doubt on Foreman's ability to produce in a Week 17 matchup against Miami, he is still likely to remain the lead back in Tennessee.
