Marlon Mack RB | ARI
Marlon Mack: Signs with 49ers' practice squad
Mack was signed to the 49ers' practice squad Wednesday.
Mack will return to 49ers after being released by the team Tuesday, joining their practice unit. The running back seems to have fallen out of favor in San Francisco's backfield and will now operate as an extreme depth option behind starter Jeff Wilson.

Saquon Barkley RB | PHI
Giants' Saquon Barkley: Set for limited practice
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Barkley (shoulder) will be a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
Barkley was able to return to Sunday's win over the Packers after briefly exiting with a right shoulder issue, and Daboll said that the star running back will "hopefully" be OK moving forward. Considering that Barkley has been the linchpin of New York's offense this season, it wouldn't be surprising to see the team take a cautious approach with his usage in practice this week. At this stage, however, Barkley is trending toward suiting up this weekend against the Ravens.

Jonathan Ward RB | NE
Cardinals' Jonathan Ward: Placed on IR
Ward (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Ward exited the Cardinals' Week 5 loss to the Eagles early with a hamstring injury and he will now miss a minimum of four weeks while on IR. The Cardinals added both Corey Clement and Ty'Son Williams to their practice squad, providing additional depth behind James Conner (ribs) and Eno Benjamin heading into Sunday's contest against the Seahawks.

Darrel Williams RB | NO
Cardinals' Darrel Williams: Unlikely to play in Week 6
Williams sprained his knee in the Cardinals' Week 5 loss to Philadelphia and isn't expected to play Sunday in Seattle, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
With Williams and James Conner (ribs) both exiting early in Week 5, Eno Benjamin saw his most extensive NFL action to date out of the backfield, playing 54 percent of the offensive snaps while accounting for 53 yards and a touchdown on 11 touches. The Cardinals signed both Corey Clement and Ty'Son Williams to their practice squad, adding additional depth to their banged-up backfield. Expect at least one to be promoted to the 53-man roster before Sunday, with Williams set to miss the contest and Conner's status for the Week 6 game still uncertain.

Jason Huntley RB | IND
Jason Huntley: Let go by Steelers
Huntley was cut from the Steelers' practice squad Wednesday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Huntley was let go Wednesday after joining the Steelers' practice unit Sept. 2. The running back appeared in one game with the Eagles last season, rushing for 51 yards on 13 carries while also compiling 84 yards as the kick returner. Huntley will likely find another opportunity in the near future.

Ty'Son Williams RB | ARI
Ty'Son Williams: Joins Cardinals' practice squad
Williams was signed to the Cardinals' practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Williams was cut by the Ravens prior to the 2022 season and will now join his third team of the year following a short stint with the Colts in the preseason. With James Conner (ribs) and Darrel Williams (knee) banged up heading into Week 6, it's possible Williams could be added to the active roster for Sunday's matchup with the Seahawks.

D'Ernest Johnson RB | NE
Browns' D'Ernest Johnson: Limited to special teams
Johnson played 15 snaps on special teams in the Browns' 30-28 loss to the Chargers in Week 5.
The Browns have kept Johnson under wraps the first five games of the season, making him inactive the first three weeks and limiting him mostly to special-teams work in Weeks 4 and 5. He hasn't been deployed as a return man on special teams either, despite Jerome Ford (ankle) being added to injured reserve. Cleveland's backfield duo of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt have been dominant through five games, so Johnson has no clear path to playing on offense at this time.
-
Corey Clement RB | ARI
Corey Clement: Joins Cardinals' practice squad
Clement signed with Arizona's practice squad Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Clement spent some time with Baltimore during training camp but was unable to make his 2022 season debut. The veteran running back spent four season with Philadelphia and spent his 2021 campaign with Dallas. Clement rushed 33 times for 140 yards through 17 games with Dallas last season, while also playing 297 of his 368 snaps with special teams. He'll now look to compete for a depth role in Arizona.

Chuba Hubbard RB | CAR
Panthers' Chuba Hubbard: No touches again
Hubbard did not get any touches in Sunday's 37-15 loss to the 49ers.
Hubbard played 11 offensive snaps but didn't get the ball for the second straight game, proving his minimal value behind Christian McCaffrey.

Kenjon Barner RB | TB
Kenjon Barner: Released from IR
Tampa Bay released Barner (undisclosed) from IR on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Barner suffered a severe undisclosed injury during the preseason opener, which appears to have ended his 2022 campaign. The veteran running back spent the past two seasons with Tampa Bay, during which he had a mere four rushes for zero yards and returned six punts for 47 yards.
