Jaret Patterson RB | LAC
Commanders' Jaret Patterson: Makes final case for spot
Patterson took eight carries for 51 yards in Saturday's 21-19 preseason loss to the Bengals.
Patterson was the third back into the game, after Chris Rodriguez and Jonathan Williams, on a night that saw both Antonio Gibson and Brian Robinson rested. Patterson thus appears unlikely to have a spot on the Week 1 roster, perhaps sticking around via the practice squad instead.

Chris Rodriguez Jr. RB | JAC
Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Makes case for roster spot
Rodriguez took seven carries for 52 yards in Saturday's 21-19 preseason win over Cincinnatti.
With Antonio Gibson and Brian Robinson rested for the final preseason games, Rodriguez got the start and had a couple big runs early. He seems to be in line for the No. 3 RB job, though third-year pro Jaret Patterson also had a nice night (eight carries for 51) and 29-year-old Jonathan Williams would probably offer more on special teams. Rodriguez, a rookie sixth-round pick, is probably the best fit if the goal is to provide power-running depth behind Robinson.

Emari Demercado RB | KC
Cardinals' Emari Demercado: Eight carries in preseason fianle
Demercado carried the ball eight times for 32 yards in Saturday's 18-17 preseason win over the Vikings.
Demercado was the second back to enter the game behind Keaontay Ingram, most notably working ahead of veteran Corey Clement for the second consecutive week. He hasn't been particularly effective with the opportunity, as Saturday was his most productive game thanks to an 18-yard run. Nevertheless, it appears Demercado has the chance to enter the regular season as Arizona's third back on the depth chart behind James Conner and Ingram.

Chase Brown RB | CIN
Bengals' Chase Brown: Looking good for roster spot
Brown had 11 carries for 39 yards and two catches for a loss of one yard in Saturday's 21-19 preseason loss to the Commanders.
Th Bengals didn't have Joe Mixon (rest), Chris Evans (undisclosed) or Trayveon Williams (ankle), leaving Brown to make the start and dominate playing time early in the game with the second-team offense. Cincinnati then turned things over to undrafted rookies Jacob Saylors and Calvin Tyler, neither of whom did anything to unseat Brown, a fifth-round pick. Reports suggest Evans is the favorite to spell Mixon on third downs, but Brown at least appears in good position for a roster spot heading into Week 1 at Cleveland.

Keaontay Ingram RB | KC
Cardinals' Keaontay Ingram: Four carries in preseason finale
Ingram carried the ball four times for 20 yards in Saturday's 18-17 preseason win over the Vikings. He also recorded one reception for three yards.
Ingram was the first back on the field with James Conner sitting out, and he played two offensive possessions. He ends the preseason with 11 carries for 48 yards and a touchdown and will enter the regular season as the second running back on the Arizona depth chart.

John Kelly RB | CLE
Browns' John Kelly: Sees goal line work
Kelly carried the ball six times for 20 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 33-32 preseason loss to the Chiefs. He added three receptions for 33 yards.
The Browns ran a pass-heavy gameplan in an effort to get Deshaun Watson reps, but Kelly was ultimately the third back to take the field. His first three carries came inside the red zone, where he spelled Demetric Felton. It's possible that Kelly will see the field early on in the regular season if Jerome Ford (hamstring) isn't ready to return, though Felton's skillset is a better complement to Nick Chubb, which could give him the upper hand over Kelly.
-
Jerick McKinnon RB | KC
Chiefs' Jerick McKinnon: Wraps up light preseason usage
McKinnon caught his only target for 23 yards in Saturday's 33-32 preseason win over the Browns.
McKinnon entered the game on the first offensive possession with the Chiefs facing a long third down and helped keep the possession alive with a 23-yard catch. He'll likely begin the season primarily working in passing situations, though he has stepped into a more significant role in the final weeks of each of the last two campaigns.
-
Demetric Felton RB | WAS
Browns' Demetric Felton: Little production on seven touches
Felton carried the ball six times for nine yards in Saturday's 33-32 preseason loss to the Chiefs. He added one reception for six yards.
Felton saw the majority of his work on special teams as a kick returner and with the backup offensive unit. His six rushes tied for the lead in the backfield, but he was outplayed by John Kelly. With Jerome Ford's (hamstring) status in question for a Week 1 matchup against the Bengals, Felton could be the primary backup to Nick Chubb. However, Kelly saw goal-line work with the first-team offense, leaving the depth chart somewhat ambiguous.

Mohamed Ibrahim RB | MIN
Mohamed Ibrahim: Let go by Detroit
Ibrahim (undisclosed) was waived from the Lions' injured reserve with an injury settlement Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The undrafted rookie agreed to terms with Detroit in late April before being waived with an injury settlement. In his last year of college, the running back ran for 1,665 yards on 320 carries with 20 touchdowns for Minnesota. Before Ibrahim got hurt, it seemed as if he was contending for a spot on the Lions' active roster. It is unclear what the 24-year-old's injury is at the moment.

Trayveon Williams RB | CLE
Bengals' Trayveon Williams: Doesn't dress Saturday
Williams (ankle) is not in uniform for Saturday's preseason game against the Commanders, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Williams has been dealing with an ankle sprain since Aug. 1, which has caused him to miss all three preseason bouts. With running back Chris Evans (undisclosed) also out of Saturday's game, rookie Chase Brown should get a heavy workload in the Bengals' preseason finale.
