  • Browns' Jacoby Brissett: Efficient until costly interception

Brissett (ankle) completed 22 of 27 passes for 229 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 31-30 loss to the Jets. He added 43 yards on six rushing attempts.

Brissett completed his first nine passes and bounced back from his first incompletion by connecting with Amari Cooper for a six-yard touchdown on the very next play. Cleveland's quarterback cooled down after that, but a three-touchdown rushing performance from Nick Chubb seemingly had Cleveland in position to win until the Jets scored two touchdowns a minute apart after the two-minute warning. A 21-yard scramble from Brissett got the Browns close to field-goal range, but he threw an interception on the next play. Scott Petrak of The Chronicle-Telegram reports that Brissett played through an ankle injury in the fourth quarter but expects to play Thursday against the Steelers.

  • Trey Lance QB | LAC

49ers' Trey Lance: Season may be over

Lance sustained a severe right ankle injury Sunday against the Seahawks that's expected to require season-ending surgery, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Lance was carted off the field with an air cast on his lower right leg in the first half of the 49ers' Week 2 contest. He was quickly ruled out, and now it appears he won't play again this season. With Lance sidelined, the team will turn to Jimmy Garoppolo under center.

  • Jared Goff QB | DET

Lions' Jared Goff: Throws four TDs

Goff completed 20 of 34 passes for 256 yards with four touchdowns during Sunday's 36-27 win over Washington.

Goff continued his good play at Ford Field and has now thrown multiple touchdowns for the sixth consecutive home game. This outing was one of his most impressive, as he averaged a relatively efficient 7.5 yards per pass attempt while hitting paydirt four times. He could have had a fifth had DJ Chark corralled a deep pass on a flea flicker early on. In any case, with a steady run game to keep the offense humming and multiple explosive weapons at receiver, Goff is well positioned to have plenty of productive games as the season rolls on. Next up is a Week 3 matchup on the road in Minnesota.

  • Jameis Winston QB | NYG

Saints' Jameis Winston: Struggles in Week 2 loss

Winston completed 25 of 40 passes for 236 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions in the Saints' 20-10 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also rushed once for two yards and committed a fumble that was recovered by New Orleans.

A pregame report indicated Winston is playing through multiple back fractures, and that seemed to be borne out in his lackluster performance. The 2015 first overall pick of the Buccaneers was victimized by his former team as the game went on, taking a whopping six sacks and seeing one of his three interceptions returned for what was essentially a game-clinching touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Winston salvaged his fantasy day to an extent with a seven-yard touchdown toss to Michael Thomas with 3:02 remaining, but given questions about his health, his status for a Week 3 divisional road clash against the Panthers and beyond remains to be seen.

  • Lamar Jackson QB | BAL

Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Prolific effort in loss

Jackson completed 21 of 29 passes for 318 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Ravens' 42-38 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. He also rushed nine times for 119 yards and another score while committing a fumble that was recovered by Baltimore.

It's difficult to envision the Ravens losing a game in which Jackson put up the numbers he did Sunday, but that's exactly what came to pass courtesy of the Dolphins' jaw-dropping 28-point fourth quarter. Jackson was outplayed on the stat sheet by Tua Tagovailoa and his six touchdown passes, yet the 2019 MVP was the star of the first three quarters with touchdown tosses of 75, one and 12 yards to Rashod Bateman, Mark Andrews and Demarcus Robinson, respectively. Jackson added a spectacular, trademark 79-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, adding to an outstanding fantasy afternoon in defeat. Jackson and the Ravens will look to regroup after the devastating loss when they hit the road and tangle with the Patriots in a Week 3 matchup.

  • Panthers' Baker Mayfield: Throws touchdown in loss

Mayfield completed 14 of 29 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 19-16 loss to the Giants. He also rushed six times for 35 yards.

Mayfield struggled to generate much in the passing game Sunday, as the Panthers suffered a second-straight narrow defeat to begin the season. While his 16-yard touchdown to DJ Moore and uncharacteristic rushing production helped his performance, Mayfield still approaches Week 3's matchup versus the Saints striving to click as Carolina's lead signal caller.

  • Daniel Jones QB | IND

Giants' Daniel Jones: Throws touchdown in win

Jones completed 22 of 34 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 19-16 win over the Panthers. He also rushed 10 times for 21 yards.

Jones sealed New York's victory by rushing for a first down late, enabling the team to subsequently run down the clock. Although he also threw a 16-yard touchdown to Daniel Bellinger and avoided any turnovers, it was overall a fairly pedestrian performance from Jones. With the Giants winning their first two games, however, Jones and company should be confident heading into Week 3's Monday night matchup versus the rival Cowboys.

  • Trey Lance QB | LAC

49ers' Trey Lance: Out with right ankle injury

Lance (ankle) won't return to Sunday's game against the Seahawks.

Lance injured his ankle on a run-pass option at the end of a two-yard carry, when his right leg was bent back on a tackle by Seattle linebacker Cody Barton. As Lance was taken off the field on a cart, his right ankle was donning an air cast, per Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee. While the severity of the concern currently is unknown, Lance will hand over the keys to the 49ers offense to Jimmy Garoppolo.

  • Trey Lance QB | LAC

49ers' Trey Lance: Suffers ankle injury Sunday

Lance (ankle) won't return to Sunday's game against the Seahawks.

When the QB was carted off the field he had an air cast on his lower right leg, with the team now confirming that Lance sustained an ankle injury. If he's forced to miss time beyond Sunday's contest, which seems likely, Jimmy Garoppolo would be in line to serve as the 49ers' starting signal caller.

  • Trey Lance QB | LAC

49ers' Trey Lance: Carted off field Sunday

Lance (leg) was carted off the field during Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Per the report, Lance's right leg was in an air cast, so at first glance this looks like an injury that could cost him some time. In Lance's absence, Jimmy Garoppolo has stepped in at QB for the 49ers.
