  • Trace McSorley QB | WAS

Cardinals' Trace McSorley: Mixed bag in Week 16 loss

McSorley completed 24 of 45 passes for 217 yards with no touchdowns and one interception and rushed seven times for 14 yards in the Cardinals' 19-16 overtime loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday night. He also lost two fumbles.

McSorley's first NFL start wasn't disastrous by any stretch, but ball security was an issue for the fourth-year pro. McSorley's first lost fumble came midway through the first quarter at the Buccaneers' 30-yard line as a result of a sack, proving costly to the Cardinals even though it didn't lead to any Tampa Bay points. The second was even more consequential, as McSorley was charged with a turnover on an attempted fourth-quarter pitch to Keaontay Ingram that was recovered by the Bucs' William Gholston and led to a game-tying field goal. McSorley may be one and done as a starter, as Colt McCoy should have a good chance of clearing concussion protocol in time for a Week 17 road matchup against the Falcons.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Broncos' Russell Wilson: Woes continue with three picks

Wilson completed 15 of 27 pass attempts for 214 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in Sunday's 51-14 blowout loss to the Rams. He added 17 rushing yards on two attempts.

Wilson returned from a one-game layoff due to a concussion, but his fantasy managers are probably wishing he sat this one out based on the poor results. The 34-year-old showed some signs of life in his last start against the Chiefs when he threw three touchdowns for the first time this year, but he followed that up with his first three-interception game in this horrid loss. Wilson was pulled for Brett Rypien late in the contest, but the backup didn't fare much better (4/8, 45 yards, INT) than the player he replaced. Assuming the Broncos stick with their $245 million quarterback in Week 17, Wilson will try to recapture the success he experienced against the Chiefs in Week 14 when the two clubs meet Jan. 1.

  • Rams' Baker Mayfield: Nearly perfect in blowout victory

Mayfield completed 24 of 28 pass attempts for 230 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 51-14 win over the Broncos.

Mayfield struggled in his last start and had one of the league's top defenses on tap for Week 16, so logically he twirled one his finest games as a pro Sunday. Sarcasm aside, the former first-overall pick showed a marked improvement in his second official start with the Rams. Teaming up with head coach Sean McVay has revitalized the polarizing quarterback's season, as he appears to have solidified the starting job for the remainder of the year. Mayfield may even regain the trust of fantasy managers if he can continue to show signs of improved play against the Chargers on Sunday.

  • Tua Tagovailoa QB | ATL

Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Falls apart in second half

Tagovailoa completed 16 of 25 passes for 310 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions in Sunday's 26-20 loss to the Packers.

It was a tale of two halves for Tagovailoa, who racked up 229 yards and his only TD before halftime but threw for only 81 yards and tossed all three of his picks after the break to squander a 20-13 lead. The third-year quarterback has been picked off in only four of his 13 starts this season, but he's tossed multiple INTs in three of those games, making him a volatile option in Week 17's road game against a Patriots team fighting for its playoff life.

  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Quiet day against Miami

Rodgers completed 24 of 38 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown with an interception in Sunday's 26-20 win over the Dolphins. He added 18 rushing yards on seven carries.

Rodgers continues to post mediocre numbers -- he's gone six straight games without reaching 240 passing yards, and three straight with just one passing TD -- but a Packers defense that created four takeaways took the pressure off the quarterback to win the game himself. With Green Bay still alive in the playoff race, Rodgers will look to generate a little more offense in Week 17 against a vulnerable Vikings defense that managed to hold him to 195 yards and zero TDs in their first meeting this season back in Week 1.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Could push to play in Week 17

With the Eagles unable to clinch the NFC East and the NFC's No. 1 playoff seed this week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network suggests that Hurts (shoulder) could push to play in Week 17 against the Saints.

Per Rapoport, Hurts is considered day-to-day due to the sprained right shoulder he sustained during Week 15 action, but with the Eagles still having something to play for at this stage, it's possible that their franchise QB could return to the field as soon as next weekend. Added context on that front should arrive in the coming days, but if Hurts isn't cleared to face New Orleans, Gardner Minshew would be in line for another start.

  • Kenny Pickett QB | CAR

Steelers' Kenny Pickett: Leads comeback win

Pickett completed 26 of 39 passes for 244 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Saturday's 13-10 win over the Raiders. He added three rushes for nine yards.

Pickett returned from a one-game absence caused by a concussion and topped 30 pass attempts for only the second time in his last six games. He averaged a subpar 6.3 yards per attempt but effectively distributed the ball to top pass-catching options such as Pat Freiermuth, Diontae Johnson and George Pickens. Pickett also orchestrated a game-winning drive in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, during which he completed seven of nine passes for 75 yards, which he capped with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Pickens. With the performance, Pickett surpassed 200 passing yards for the fourth time in 11 games on the campaign, though he has yet to throw for multiple scores in a contest.

  • Derek Carr QB | NO

Raiders' Derek Carr: Throws three picks Saturday

Carr completed 16 of 30 passes for 174 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions while recording three carries for 14 yards during Saturday's 13-10 defeat at Pittsburgh.

On a cold and snowy December night, Carr and the Raiders offense found the going tough, despite having all key members of the skill positions available. The quarterback himself now has completed less than 55 percent of his passes in four straight games, resulting in 198 passing yards per game and six touchdowns versus seven interceptions during that stretch. Carr now faces the prospect of the 49ers' top-ranked defense in Week 17 on Sunday, Jan. 1.

  • Brock Purdy QB | SF

49ers' Brock Purdy: Continues to exceed expectations

Purdy completed 15 of 22 pass attempts for 234 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Saturday's 37-20 win over Washington.

Purdy ditched his injury designation ahead of Saturday's tilt after playing through oblique and rib injuries in Week 15. The Iowa State product looked poised in the pocket throughout the contest while earning another victory in the third start of his career. Purdy's lone turnover wasn't actually his fault, as Jauan Jennings bobbled a pass that hit him in the hands before accidentally swatting it directly to a defender for an easy interception. The last pick from this year's draft has looked anything but irrelevant through nearly 16 quarters of action, posting an 8:2 TD:INT ratio while completing 69 percent of his passes over that span. Purdy's stock is trending in the right direction with a favorable matchup on tap against the Raiders' 27th-ranked pass defense on New Year's Day.

  • Commanders' Taylor Heinicke: Benched after two late turnovers

Heinicke completed 13 of 18 pass attempts for 166 yards, two touchdowns, an interception and a fumble lost in Saturday's 37-20 loss to the 49ers.

Heinicke -- who entered the game already on the hot seat -- was unceremoniously benched in the second half in favor of Carson Wentz (12/16 for 123 yards and a touchdown) after he committed turnovers on consecutive drives. The 29-year-old was actually having a solid game against one of the league's top defenses before unraveling late in the contest. Head coach Ron Rivera said after the game that he will review the game film and decide on his starting quarterback early in Week 17, according to Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post. Heinicke wasn't providing eye-opening numbers prior to his recent struggles, so Rivera's decision is unlikely to shake the fantasy waters this late in the campaign. If he sticks with the incumbent, Heinicke will have to deal with Cleveland's dominant edge rusher, Myles Garrett, next Sunday after getting harassed by Nick Bosa in Saturday's loss.
