Brock Purdy QB | SF
49ers' Brock Purdy: Will start throwing next week
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Tuesday that Purdy (elbow) will start a throwing program next week, NFL Network's Taylor Bisciotti reports.
It's all part of Purdy's 12-week plan, and he remains on track to be ready for Week 1 after tearing his UCL in a playoff loss to the Eagles back in January. Trey Lance has been handling all of the first-team reps at OTAs this week, but Sam Darnold is expected to start mixing into the equation at some point this offseason. Purdy remains the favorite to open the year as San Francisco's starter.

Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT
Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Diagnosed with strained calf
Rodgers suffered a strained calf in Tuesday's practice, CBS Sports' Josina Anderson reports.
Rodgers' injury was initially reported as an ankle issue, but it's actually to his calf. According to Anderson, the injury is considered minor, and the veteran quarterback shouldn't miss much time. This doesn't seem like it will affect Rodgers' availability for training camp, but we might see the Jets dial him back for the remainder of OTAs.

Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT
Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Dealing with ankle injury
Rodgers suffered an apparent ankle injury at Tuesday's OTA session and didn't participate in team drills, ESPN's Rich Cimini reports.
Rodgers appeared to tweak his ankle in warmups prior to practice and was seen getting checked by the training staff. He ended up sitting out the rest of the day but did remain on the sideline, suggesting his absence might have been more precautionary than anything else. It'll be interesting to see if Rodgers is back out there later this week. Either way, this doesn't have the sound of a long-term issue.

C.J. Stroud QB | HOU
Texans' C.J. Stroud: Starting strong at OTAs
Coach DeMeco Ryans suggested Tuesday that he's in no rush to name a starting quarterback, though Stroud has done an "excellent job" so far, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Davis Mills was the first QB through drills at OTAs on Tuesday, followed by Stroud and then Case Keenum. The No. 2 overall pick in 2023 figures to make starts as a rookie, but he won't necessarily be under center Week 1 if he struggles during the offseason program. Ryans said a starter won't be determined until training camp.

Davis Mills QB | HOU
Texans' Davis Mills: Not on trade block
The Texans aren't interested in trading Mills, who was the first quarterback through drills Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
It's a crowded QB room with Mills (26 career starts) joined by 35-year-old Case Keenum (64 starts) and 2023 second overall pick C.J. Stroud. It's worth noting that the rookie was second through drills (ahead of Keenum) at the first day of OTAs. There's little question Stroud will take snaps this year, but it is possible new coach DeMeco Ryans gives Mills a chance to keep his starting job for at least the early portion of the season.

Bryce Young QB | CAR
Panthers' Bryce Young: Works with first team
Young split first-team reps with Andy Dalton on the first day of OTAs, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Dalton took the initial reps, but he and Young ultimately split pass attempts evenly with the first-team offense. Earlier in May, coach Frank Reich stated that Young would work with backups to start OTAs, though it appears he's already scrapped that plan. While it will almost certainly take some time for the Panthers to make an official announcement as to their starting quarterback to begin the season, Young looks to be trending toward that role.

Justin Herbert QB | LAC
Chargers' Justin Herbert: Throwing at OTAs
Herbert (shoulder) threw passes to teammates Monday at OTAs, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Herbert resumed throwing earlier in May, about 13-to-14 weeks after postseason surgery on the labrum in his left shoulder. He's doing well enough to throw in practice, albeit without any defenders on the field for the first day of OTAs. There's still a chance Herbert misses some reps this spring, but he's well on his way to starting Week 1 and has a couple new faces in town (OC Kellen Moore, WR Quentin Johnston) to help him rebound from a disappointing 2022 in which the QB's touchdown rate (3.6 percent, 25 total) and yards per attempt (6.8) nosedived even with a career high in completion percentage (68.2). The Chargers are counting on their offseason additions to help Herbert rebound to his 2020-21 level -- 7.4 YPA; 308.9 total yards and 2.4 total TDs per game -- or possibly even reacher greater heights. Offensive line depth again looks like a weakness for the Chargers, but they at least have star LT Rashawn Slater coming back from a biceps tear and an elite center in Corey Linsley.

Matt Corral QB | MIN
Panthers' Matt Corral: Healthy to start OTAs
Head coach Frank Reich said Corral (foot) participated in the opening installment of OTAs, Anthony Rizzuti of USA Today reports.
Corral was a third-round pick by the Panthers in 2022 but missed his entire rookie season after undergoing Lisfranc surgery in early September. Carolina signed Andy Dalton and traded up for No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young this offseason, so despite being healthy, Corral finds himself competing for a roster spot in Year 2.

Josh Johnson QB | CIN
Ravens' Josh Johnson: Back in Baltimore
Johnson (concussion) agreed to a contract with the Ravens on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Johnson's last NFL appearances came in the form of relief action for Brock Purdy (elbow) during the 49ers' NFC Championship Game loss to the Eagles, a contest in which the veteran was forced out early due to a concussion. Now healthy, Johnson returns to Baltimore, where he also logged stints in 2016 and 2021. He will likely operate as the Ravens' third-string quarterback behind Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley.

Mitch Trubisky QB | TEN
Steelers' Mitch Trubisky: Signing extension
Trubisky is signing a two-year extension with the Steelers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Trubisky signed a two-year contract last offseason and was scheduled for a $10 million cap hit in 2023. This reportedly lowers the cap charge, and it may also give him a degree of security beyond the upcoming season (or not... it depends on what the details are). The Steelers recently re-signed Mason Rudolph, who might technically get a chance to challenge Trubisky for the second spot on the depth chart but will be a big underdog in that competition. Kenny Pickett enters spring practices as the unquestioned starter, though his rookie-year performance suggests he could land on the hot seat quickly if things don't go well in September.
