The Raiders selected Miller in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 215th overall.

Miller took over the reins from Trey Lance at North Dakota State and had a successful career for the Bison. He led them to an FCS national title in 2024, throwing for 3,251 yards and 33 touchdowns against just four picks. Miller also has wheels with a whopping 48 rushing touchdowns to his credit. At 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds, Miller doesn't possess NFL starter tools but projects to be a backup that can stick in the league.

The Texans selected Mertz in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 197th overall.

At one time, Mertz was considered a major quarterback prospect. He enrolled at Wisconsin as one of the top-rated quarterbacks in his recruiting class. Mertz never quite matched the hype in Madison, though, and transferred to Florida. He posted a 20:3 TD:INT in his first season at Florida in 2023 and had his final season cut short by an injury after five games. Given that he's a sixth-round pick going to Houston, Mertz projects as the QB3 behind C.J. Stroud and Davis Mills, at best.

The Colts selected Leonard in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 189th overall.

Leonard started for two seasons at Duke in 2022 and 2023 before transferring to Notre Dame in 2024, where he posted a career-best 66.7 completion percentage on 269-for-403 passing, racking up 2,861 passing yards and a 21:8 TD:INT ratio. While Leonard doesn't have lightning speed, he's certainly mobile, racking up 900 rushing yards and a Fighting Irish single-season record for rushing scores in a season with 17. There are still some questions surrounding his ability to push the ball down the field consistently. However, he fits nicely into Shane Steichen's offense behind uber-athletic Anthony Richardson, who's had his problems staying healthy early in his career. Leonard likely fits in behind Daniel Jones, an offseason acquisition by the Colts, as the potential third-string quarterback.

The Steelers selected Howard in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 185th overall.

The Steelers waited until late in the draft to address quarterback but still ended up with a decent prospect in Howard. Before leading Ohio State to a national championship in 2024, Howard started parts of four seasons at Kansas State. He didn't have nearly the pass-catching talent at K-State that he had in Columbus, and that's borne out in the numbers -- Howard completed 58.8 percent of his passes at a 7.4 YPA clip. Howard was helped dramatically by the supporting cast at Ohio State and posted a 73 percent completion rate and 9.5 YPA while tossing 35 touchdowns in 16 games. Howard is a big (6-foot-4, 236 pounds) and athletic quarterback who can run. He doesn't possess elite arm talent but is a good processor and is poised. In a situation like Pittsburgh's with no established starter, it wouldn't be shocking for Howard to compete for a starting job. And as a fun aside, Howard actually competed for playing time with fellow Steeler Skylar Thompson while they were at Kansas State.

The Eagles selected McCord in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 181st overall.

McCord transferred to Syracuse in 2024 after spending the three previous seasons at Ohio State. He flourished in Syracuse's pass-happy spread system, leading the FBS in passing yards (4,779) and completions per game (30.1) in 2024 to earn a spot on the Second Team All-ACC roster. McCord doesn't stand out physically, but he stays cool in the pocket and makes throws with conviction, which should translate against NFL-level defenses. He'll compete with Tanner McKee and Dorian Thompson-Robinson for the backup quarterback job behind Jalen Hurts.

Howell was traded from the Seahawks to the Vikings on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

This was a likely outcome for Howell after Seattle drafted Jalen Milroe on Day 2 of the NFL Draft. Howell has starting experience and is a serviceable backup behind J.J. McCarthy, who is set to take over as the new starter in Minnesota.

The Browns selected Sanders in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 144th overall.

Sanders was the biggest faller of the draft, as he began the process this winter as a contender to go as the first overall pick. Instead, the Colorado product was the sixth quarterback to be selected and the second player at the position to be picked by the Browns, who also invested a third-round pick on Dillon Gabriel. The reasons for Sanders' slide aren't officially reported at this point, but he'll now likely be battling for the third spot on the depth chart to begin the 2025 season.

The Browns selected Gabriel in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 94th overall.

Cleveland was expected to leave this draft with at least one quarterback, but Gabriel wasn't the prospect most anticipated. Gabriel had a lengthy college career with three productive stops at UCF, Oklahoma and Oregon to make him the NCAA's all-time leader in total touchdowns (189). An undersized southpaw (5-foot-11, 205), Gabriel possesses legitimate NFL arm strength and has a great feel in the pocket. Gabriel has 63 starts to his credit and learned several different offenses in college, which bodes well for the mental transition to the league. It's unlikely that Gabriel develops into a starter in the NFL, but it was worth it for the Browns to take a shot on him at this stage.

The Seahawks selected Milroe in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 92nd overall.

This is one of the most intriguing picks of Day 2, if not the entire draft thus far. Milroe is an extremely polarizing prospect. His proponents point to his undeniable tools; Milroe is well-built with a cannon arm and 4.4 speed. His detractors point to erratic accuracy and an inability to put touch on short and intermediate passes. Milroe started for two years at Alabama, completing 65 percent of his passes at 9.4 YPA with 39 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. He also ran for 1,257 yards and 32 touchdowns in those seasons. His 'wow' plays are up there with any quarterback in the class. There are moments in which he looks unstoppable, either with the deep ball or as a runner. There are also several concerning starts on his resume, such as the 2024 Oklahoma game, which explain why he was available at this stage. With Sam Darnold under a lucrative contract, the Seahawks can be patient with Milroe's development and see if they can turn him into a future starter.

The Saints selected Shough in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 40th overall.

New Orleans has been linked to this quarterback class of late, especially with Derek Carr dealing with a shoulder issue. The Saints were able to play this out very well and land the No.3 quarterback off the board without having to sacrifice draft capital. Shough had a circuitous route to get to this moment. Once painted as the heir apparent to Justin Herbert at Oregon, Shough battled several injuries in Eugene and transferred to Texas Tech, where unfortunate injury luck followed. He made 13 starts over three seasons in Lubbock before transferring to his final stop, Louisville. Shough managed to stay healthy and showed what he can do, throwing for 3,195 yards and 23 touchdowns in 12 starts. Obviously, Shough is an older quarterback prospect who will turn 26 as a rookie. Injuries prevented him from showing his talent until his seventh year in college. He has a prototypical frame (6-foot-5, 219 pounds) with good arm strength and processing ability. His age suggests he doesn't have a ton of runway to develop on the bench, but in New Orleans, where there is an uncertain quarterback situation, there is a chance Shough takes over as soon as this year.
