Andy Dalton QB | PHI
Dalton: Gruden's criticism warranted
Andy Dalton told the Bengals official team website that he has no problems with offensive coordinator Jay Gruden's criticisms about his play from last year. Gruden said Dalton had "a long way to go," and Dalton agrees. "I saw where he said everything," Dalton said. "If you play in this league, you're not going to be like 'I'm really good at that so I'm not going to improve.' You want to improve on everything that you do. I think that's what he was getting at. I agree, I can get better on all phases of the game whether it is throwing the ball or making certain checks at the line or getting out of certain things; I think there is so much you can keep improving and getting better at." -

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Carroll expects Wilson to get better
In a video Q&A on the Seahawks official website, head coach Pete Carroll tabbed quarterback Russell Wilson as the player most likely to break out on 2013. "I think he's going to really do well this year," Carroll said of Wilson. "He's going to bust out and will benefit tremendously from his first year. It may be hard to imagine him getting better but I think he's going to get a lot better." -

Geno Smith QB | NYJ
La Canfora: Smith will go Top 5
CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora says there "isn't any doubt" West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith will go within the first five picks in April's draft. La Canfora sees the Jaguars as the top suitor for him with the Raiders and Eagles possibly interested. -
Blaine Gabbert QB | KC
La Canfora: Jags don't love Gabbert
CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora writes the Jaguars' excitement in quarterback Blaine Gabbert this offseason has been a "smokescreen" for how they truly feel about him. Per La Canfora, Gabbert's "sense of entitlement, lack of production/development, attitude, and struggles in the face of the pass rush are just some of the reasons why he might never see the fourth year of his rookie contract in Jacksonville. So the Jags are very much in the hunt for their next quarterback." La Canfora thinks they could pull the trigger on Geno Smith with the second overall choice. -

Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT
Rodgers close to new deal
CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports that it won't be too long before Aaron Rodgers becomes the highest-paid player in NFL history. It could be a week or two. Perhaps a month or two. But given the ongoing negotiations between the star quarterback and the Packers, the progress to this point and the accepted reality between the sides that Rodgers is going to eclipse in most every way the recent record contract signed by Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, it's only a matter of time before he becomes the league's first $25-million a year man -- or close to it. La Canfora reports he would not be surprised if a deal was struck before the draft. Rodgers is currently scheduled to earn just $9.75 million this season and $11 million in 2014, the final years of his current deal. -
Matt Barkley QB | JAC
Barkley shows shoulder OK
NFL.com reports that quarterback Matt Barkley proved at USC's pro day he's fully healed from the shoulder injury that cut short his senior season with the Trojans. "I think primarily that I still have an arm, and it works," Barkley said what he proved with his performance. "I think that was the big question. Just the fact I haven't been able to throw for so long, since the bowl game, nothing at the Senior Bowl, nothing at the combine. I just wanted to come out today and do what I normally do, just kind of put myself in a normal practice mindset like I've done this a million times before." Reactions were mixed on Barkley's workout. Choosing to throw against the wind, Barkley had some balls flutter. His deep accuracy was good, however, and he finished 55-of-60 passing for the day. "Yeah, we decided to go that way, headed into the wind," Barkley said. "We knew the coaches were probably going to ask us to go that way afterwards if we chose to go with the wind. I don't think it posed too much of a problem, maybe a couple of balls here and there, but I thought it was a good day overall."
