Coach Adam Gase said he isn't sure what Tannehill (shoulder) will be able to do this week, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.

Gase expects to have more information Tuesday and did mention that Tannehill threw a tennis ball last week. While the early signs suggest a return for Week 9 against the Jets may be a stretch, it does at least seem the 30-year-old quarterback is making some progress in his recovery from an AC joint sprain. Brock Osweiler will get another start if Tannehill isn't cleared to play in Sunday's game.

Cousins completed 31 of 41 pass attempts for 359 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 30-20 loss to the Saints.

Cousins more than doubled Drew Brees' passing total but was saddled with the loss after a couple of costly turnovers (one of which was his own doing) gifted the game to the Saints. The 30-year-old's 8.8 yards per attempt was the highest mark since Week 2, when he dropped 425 yards on the Packers. The difference between good and huge fantasy days from Cousins appears to be based on whether the opponent forces a shootout scenario. Against Detroit in Week 9, he's less likely to induce an aerial showdown compared to the clash with the Saints, but Cousins should still have a high floor in an important division matchup.

Goff completed 19 of 35 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns during Sunday's 29-27 win against the Packers.

The former No. 1 overall pick enjoyed his fifth multi-touchdown performance of 2018, while playing turnover-free football for the second consecutive week as Los Angeles defeated Green Bay in a battle of NFC heavyweights. Though he was held to his second-lowest completion rate of the season (54.3 percent), Goff connected on a number of deep passes to recuperate some of that unfulfilled production, eight times accounting for gains of 19 or more yards through the air against the Packers. In Week 9, Goff and the Rams passing attack will be opposing a Saints defense that's allowed 275 or more passing yards in each of its past three outings.

Beathard completed 14 of 28 pass attempts for 190 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 18-15 loss to the Cardinals. He also carried five times for nine yards.

Beathard struggled to connect with his receivers at times as he completed just 50 percent of his pass attempts on the day. His lone touchdown came on a 55-yard catch and run by Marquise Goodwin, which accounted for a large chunk of his overall output. Beathard did avoid turning the ball over after doing so 10 times in his previous four games, but finding significant positives here proves difficult He'll look to step up his productivity Thursday against the Raiders.

Carr completed 21 of 28 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns while rushing twice for zero yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 42-28 loss to the Colts.

Who needs Amari Cooper anyway? Carr bounced back beautifully from his worst performance of the season despite watching the starting wide receiver get traded for a first-round pick in between. The quarterback accounted for all four touchdowns as his team took a 28-21 lead into the fourth quarter, but Indianapolis pulled away with a 21-0 run in the final frame. Carr will have a short turnaround with a Thursday night tilt in San Francisco on the docket for Week 9.

Rodgers completed 18-of-30 pass attempts for 286 yards and a touchdown, adding a 5-yard rush during Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Rams.

Rodgers was deprived of a potential game-winning drive in the final two minutes of play, as Ty Montgomery brought a kickoff out of the end zone and was stripped around the 22-yard line to give Los Angeles a choke hold on the game that would not be relinquished. Rodgers was masterful in leading Green Bay back from a 10-point second-half deficit prior to that, connecting with Marquez Valdes-Scantling on a 40-yard dart down the right sideline to provide the Pack with a momentary 27-26 lead in the fourth quarter. Though Rodgers has been steady in exceeding 15 points in every game this season (standard scoring), those who invested in the perennial Pro Bowler as a top-five quarterback have failed to receive expected return on investment. In Week 9, Green Bay will face off with a Patriots defense that ranks in the bottom half of the league in passing touchdowns, passing yards and completions allowed.

Keenum completed 23 of 34 passes for 262 yards, two touchdowns and an interception during Sunday's 30-23 loss in Kansas City. He added nine yards on the ground and lost a fumble.

The Broncos were reeling late in the first half following 16 unanswered points by the Chiefs, but Keenum marched Denver 75 yards in 49 seconds, capping the drive with a 24-yard loft to Tim Patrick. The drive represented Keenum at his best while two second-half turnovers at midfield, including an interception on an underthrown flea-flicker pass, showed him at his worst. Keenum now has 10 interceptions this season, three more than he recorded all of last season. Despite making several big plays outside the pocket, Denver continues to use him as a dropback passer -- something that seems to puzzle him and his offensive line. With five early losses, Denver doesn't have much wiggle room, and Keenum will be counted on next Sunday against a Houston defense among the league's best against the run but middle-of-the-pack against the pass, with an opponent quarterback rating of 93.3.

Stafford completed 27 of 40 passes for 310 yards, two touchdowns and an interception during Sunday's 28-14 loss to Seattle. He added six yards on one carry and a lost fumble on the ground.

Flushed out of the pocket, Stafford muscled the ball 39 yards downfield to a streaking Marvin Jones for the game's first touchdown late in the first quarter. Detroit didn't strike again until the fourth quarter, when Seattle had already taken control of the game. The Lions did not have their newfound run game on Sunday. Consequently, Stafford showed that, albeit in a losing effort, he's still able to pile up stats when counted on to run the whole show. His interception was just his second since Week 1, and he's now thrown multiple touchdown passes for six straight games in what has been a somewhat under-the-radar season. Next up is a Minnesota defense that, despite some early challenges, has climbed up into the top half of the league in opponent passer rating this season.

Mayfield completed 22 of 36 passes for 180 yards, two touchdowns and an interception during Sunday's 33-18 loss to Pittsburgh. He added a nine-yard run during the contest.

Mayfield made this a tight ballgame late in the third quarter. With pressure in his face, Mayfield floated a short flag route to Antonio Callaway for a 1-yard touchdown to bring the Browns to within a score. A missed extra point and 17 unanswered points by the Steelers followed before Mayfield connected on a meaningless touchdown in the game's final seconds. Mayfield has completed an impressive 64.3 percent of his passes over the past two weeks with a 4:1 TD:INT. He's been unable to push the ball downfield, however, averaging just 5.6 yards per attempt during that span, a potential byproduct of the talent around him. If there were a cure for those ills, next Sunday's matchup against a Chiefs defense ranked near the bottom of the league across multiple categories might be it.

Dalton completed 21 of 34 passes for 280 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Bengals' 37-34 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also rushed three times for 10 yards.

Dalton was much sharper and productive in the first half, but he remained error-free throughout the contest and was clutch during what would turn out to be the game-winning drive. Dalton connected with A.J. Green for 23 and 11 yards during that possession, leading to Randy Bullock's 44-yard clinching field goal. Despite the late-game success throwing to his No. 1 receiver, Dalton was even more prolific when targeting Tyler Boyd, with whom he connected on nine occasions for 138 yards and a score. Now having thrown multiple touchdowns in two of his last three games, Dalton will look to make it consecutive impressive outings when Cincinnati faces the Saints in a Week 10 interconference showdown following a Week 9 bye.
