Cowboys' George Pickens: Takes turn as workhorse Thursday
George Pickens secured nine of 13 targets for 130 yards and a touchdown in the Dallas Cowboys' 24-16 loss to the Buccaneers on Thursday night.Pickens was a bit player in the air attack during a Week 4 comeback win against the Texans during which CeeDee Lamb (quadriceps) recorded a massive 17-189-1 line on 21 targets, but it was the former's turn to shine Thursday. The fact Lamb was in and out of the game during the latter stages of the fourth quarter did have some impact on Pickens' involvement, but the latter was already having a big night that included his first receiving touchdown of the season on an 18-yard grab in the fourth quarter. Pickens ultimately finished with new season-high figures across his receiving line, and he'll be in line for a similarly busy night in a Week 6 road matchup against the Packers on Sunday night, Oct. 18 if Lamb is limited or misses that contest altogether.

Cowboys' George Pickens: Two long gains in win over Houston
George Pickens caught two of three targets for 75 yards in Sunday's 34-30 win over the Texans.CeeDee Lamb was the target on a massive 21 of Dak Prescott's 45 pass attempts, which didn't leave much volume for any other Cowboy. Pickens made an impact when he got a chance however, hauling in receptions of 53 and 22 yards. Pickens is still looking for his first TD of 2026 after scoring a career-high nine last season, and he'll take an 18-225-0 line on 28 targets through four games into a Week 5 meeting at home against the Buccaneers.

Cowboys' George Pickens: Season-high volume in loss to Ravens
George Pickens caught seven of 11 targets for 82 yards in Sunday's 34-31 loss to Baltimore. The fifth-year wideout led the Dallas Cowboys in targets while setting new season highs in targets, catches and receiving yards, as he begins to shake off a slow start to the campaign. Pickens is still searching for his first TD of 2026, or even his first gain of 20-plus yards, but he'll look to continue building momentum in a Week 4 road trip to Houston.

Cowboys' George Pickens: Slight improvement in Week 2 win
George Pickens brought in six of eight targets for 40 yards in the Dallas Cowboys' 37-20 win over the Commanders on Sunday.Pickens finished second in receptions and targets on the afternoon for the Cowboys, but he wasn't very efficient on a per-catch basis. The star wideout saw CeeDee Lamb take priority Sunday, with the latter finishing with an 8-153-2 line on nine targets. Pickens remains a critical component of a high-upside Cowboys air attack, however, and his body of work last season supports the notion a breakout performance may be imminent.

Cowboys' George Pickens: Kept in check by Giants
George Pickens caught three of six targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 28-20 loss to the Giants.Pickens had a couple drops in Sunday night's underwhelming season-opening performance. He was also quiet in Week 1 last season with a 30-yard receiving performance against the Eagles, but Pickens went on to post career highs with 1,429 receiving yards and nine TDs during the 2025 regular season. The talented wide receiver has a nice rebound opportunity coming up Week 2 against a Washington secondary that was among the league's leakiest in 2025.

Cowboys' George Pickens: No action during preseason
George Pickens didn't suit up for any of the Dallas Cowboys' three preseason games. After surpassing the 1,000-yard receiving threshold just one time in his first three seasons with the Steelers, Pickens broke out with a 93-1,429-9 line on 137 targets in 17 regular-season games in 2025 in his first campaign as a Cowboy. He was helped by the fact fellow WR CeeDee Lamb missed three contests due to injury, but Pickens still exhibited a tremendous rapport with QB Dak Prescott. Dallas extended the franchise tag to Pickens this offseason, and he signed it in April without reaching an extension before the deadline in mid-July, meaning he again will be in the midst of a contract year in 2026.

Cowboys' George Pickens: Dominant at training camp
George Pickens has impressed throughout the Dallas Cowboys' training camp, Dan Rogers of SB Nation reports.Pickens had a spectacular season in 2025, reeling in 93 catches for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns, all of which were career highs, over 17 regular-season contests in his first year with Dallas. The wide receiver did tail off as the season came to a close, though, averaging 57.4 receiving yards and 4.0 catches over the team's final five games after averaging 95.2 yards and 6.1 receptions over the team's previous 12 contests. Pickens will look to put together a more complete campaign this year, and he has already been connecting on all cylinders with quarterback Dak Prescott, using his advanced ball-tracking ability to make acrobatic plays throughout training camp. The Cowboys have as good of a receiving duo as any team in the league, as the talented Pickens will be paired with No. 1 option CeeDee Lamb again in 2026.

Cowboys' George Pickens: Taking part in Thursday's practice
George Pickens is taking part in Thursday's training camp practice, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.Pickens failed to reach an agreement on a new deal with the Dallas Cowboys in the offseason and will play on the one-year, $23.7 million franchise tag in 2026. He and CeeDee Lamb are set to form one of the NFL's most formidable wide receiver duos while catching passes from quarterback Dak Prescott. Pickens is healthy but unlikely to see much action in the preseason, which kicks off for the Cowboys in Seattle on Aug. 15.

Cowboys' George Pickens: Tag deadline passes
George Pickens is set to play the 2026 season on the one-year, $27.3 million franchise tag after he and the Dallas Cowboys did not reach a long-term extension before Wednesday's deadline, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.Pickens has voiced his willingness to play on the one-year franchise tag, so Wednesday's deadline passing without a new contract doesn't come as a surprise. Playing for a long-term deal or future free-agency payday should only reinforce his fantasy appeal as one of the top downfield and red-zone targets for Dak Prescott (knee), and alongside CeeDee Lamb, Pickens again will form one of the top one-two punches at wideout in the NFL. The Cowboys managed Pickens' reps at mandatory minicamp in June, but by all accounts he will have no limitations at the start of training camp other than a normal ramp-up period.

Cowboys' George Pickens: Reps managed at minicamp
Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that George Pickens won't take part in team drills at mandatory minicamp, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.Pickens has reported for the start of Dallas' mandatory minicamp, as despite his desire for a long-term deal with the team he would have been subjected to fines for any absences. Though Pickens signed his franchise tag with the Cowboys back in April, he abstained from voluntary workouts with the team during spring. Schottenheimer said the plan is for Pickens to go through a normal ramp-up period after the start of training camp in July and for the 25-year-old wideout to practice in full shortly thereafter, per Todd Archer of ESPN.com.
