  • Chaisson (knee) does not carry an official injury designation ahead of Sunday's game at Dallas. Chaisson played through his nagging knee issue in Week 1, so it's not too surprising he's in line to do the same in Week 2 despite being limited at practice all week. The return of Dorance Armstrong from a suspension may cut into Chaisson's defensive snap count Sunday.

  • Chaisson (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports. Chaisson suffered a knee injury during a joint practice with the Dolphins in early August. The linebacker sat out all three preseason games but has recovered from the injury at the perfect time. The 27-year-old is all set to suit up for the Sept. 13 regular-season opener against the Eagles.

  • Chaisson (knee) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Lions. Chaisson continues to recover from a knee injury that he picked up in joint practice with the Dolphins two weeks ago. He's been limited to side work during training camp practices, and the Commanders may take the cautious route by sidelining the 2020 first-rounder for the team's preseason finale against the Ravens next Friday.

  • Washington agreed to terms on a one-year, $11 million contract with Chaisson on Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports. Chaisson is coming off a breakout campaign in New England and will spend his seventh season in the NFL as a focal point of the Commanders' revamped pass rush. Across 16 regular-season appearances in 2025, he totaled 71 tackles (18 solo), including a career-high 7.5 sacks. Chaisson projects to start opposite fellow free-agent signee Odafe Oweh in 2026.

  • Chaisson (ankle) practiced in full Thursday. Chaisson was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday due to a lingering ankle injury. However, his return to full participation Thursday suggests he's not in danger of missing Sunday's tilt versus Cincinnati. Chaisson will be looking to build upon his 6.5 sacks -- which are already a career high -- versus the Bengals.
