Perine would be next in line to start for the Bengals at running back if Joe Mixon (ankle) can't go. Perine had four carries for 30 yards and two catches for 13 yards in the Week 15 win over the Broncos.
Mixon twice came off the field due to the ankle injury last Sunday, but was on for the last snap, which was a kneel-down. The Bengals said that they'd limit his workload in practice to start the week. So it's possible still that Perine could start this week.
