Marvin Bagley III C | DEN
Nuggets' Marvin Bagley: Grabs seven boards off bench
Bagley totaled five points (2-7 FG, 1-2 FT, 0-1 3Pt) and seven rebounds in 15 minutes during Sunday's 109-97 preseason loss to the Jazz.
After being acquired by Denver during the offseason, it appears as though Bagley could be in line to play the primary backup role behind Nikola Jokic. Despite a somewhat modest performance Sunday, Bagley was the first big off the bench, a role that could yield backend fantasy value, should it maintain for any length of time. Bagley has always struggled to deliver consistent fantasy value, seen more as a points league asset. For those in category leagues, he is best left for deeper formats.

Aaron Gordon PF | DEN
Nuggets' Aaron Gordon: Looks good in preseason hitout
Gordon totaled 12 points (4-8 FG, 3-3 FT, 1-3 3Pt) and four rebounds in 11 minutes during Sunday's 109-97 preseason loss to Utah.
Gordon was limited to just 11 minutes, although he looked good, particularly on the offensive end of the floor. After playing just 87 games over the past two seasons, Gordon's priority appears to be maintaining a healthy body this season, which can only mean good things for fantasy, at least in terms of his availability. While his best is probably behind him, Gordon's importance to this team can't be overstated. His overall skill set doesn't translate particularly well to fantasy, although he is a viable target in the later rounds, even in standard formats.

Julian Strawther SF | DEN
Nuggets' Julian Strawther: Drops 14 points off bench
Strawther recorded 14 points (6-13 FG, 1-2 FT, 1-6 3Pt), three rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes during Sunday's preseason loss to the Jazz.
Despite coming off the bench, Strawther led the Nuggets with 14 points, while also logging a team-high 20 minutes. With Jamal Murray unavailable, Strawther made the most of his opportunity, as he pushed for more playing time on a team that needs offensive production. Although he has flashed some scoring upside throughout his career, Strawther has been mostly disappointing to this point. There is no indication he will see increased minutes this season, which makes him nothing more than a deeper league target. However, if he is put in a position where he is tasked with more offensive responsibility, he could be worth consideration as a short-term flier.

Jusuf Nurkic C | UTA
Jazz's Jusuf Nurkic: Limited minutes despite starting
Nurkic totaled four points (1-5 FG, 2-2 FT, 0-2 3Pt), five rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 11 minutes during Sunday's 109-97 preseason win over the Nuggets.
Nurkic was given the starting nod Sunday, and yet played fewer minutes than newly acquired Jaxson Hayes, who ended with 19 minutes off the bench. All signs point to Nurkic being the starting center come opening night, putting him on the radar as a potential top-100 candidate. Although his role may not be reflective of what might be considered a typical starting role, his ability to put up numbers across the board should lend itself to multiple builds. Considering him as a third center in standard leagues feels relatively safe.

Darryn Peterson PG | UTA
Jazz's Darryn Peterson: Team-high 22 minutes in win
Peterson accumulated three points (1-5 FG, 1-2 FT, 0-2 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists and one steal in 22 minutes during Sunday's 109-97 preseason victory over Denver.
Petersen made his NBA debut, sliding straight into the starting lineup, as expected. Although he struggled with his efficiency, the fact that he played a team-high 22 minutes is an encouraging sign. He should open the regular season as a key piece in the rotation, putting him firmly on the fantasy radar. As a rookie point guard, managers should expect some ups and downs when it comes to his shooting splits. However, his role alone should lend itself to plenty of opportunities, making him a viable target in the 100 range of drafts.
-
Lauri Markkanen PF | UTA
Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Drops 17 points in preseason win
Markkanen finished with 17 points (5-12 FG, 4-4 FT, 3-7 3Pt), two rebounds and one steal in 16 minutes during Sunday's preseason win over the Nuggets.
Markkanen hit the ground running, fresh off an impressive performance in the recent World Cup qualifier. Despite another strong campaign during the 2025-26 season, Markkanen's overall fantasy value continues to be somewhat underrated, largely due to the fact that he has missed multiple stretches of games due to both injury and rest in each of the last three seasons. However, with Utah likely to prioritize winning this season, Markkanen is poised for what could be his best season in recent memory, at least from a totals perspective. Landing him in the third or fourth round of drafts feels like a relatively risk-free move.

Trevon Brazile PF | DEN
Nuggets' Trevon Brazile: Makes preseason debut
Brazile (undisclosed) recorded seven points (3-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt), three rebounds and two blocks in 20 minutes during Sunday's 109-97 preseason loss to the Jazz.
Brazile missed the final game of Summer League for undisclosed reasons, but he was able to suit up for the preseason opener. Brazile showed flashes of upside in Sunday's loss, connecting on a three-pointer and adding two blocks. The Arkansas product brings a unique skill set to Denver and could work his way into playing time if he continues to connect on jump shots, given his clear athletic tools and motor.
-
Stephen Curry PG | GS
Warriors' Stephen Curry: Efficient in preseason opener
Curry logged 10 points (3-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists and a steal in 12 minutes during Sunday's 104-101 preseason loss to the Clippers.
Curry understandably saw limited action in the team's preseason opener, but he made the most of his minutes, leading the starting five with 10 points on efficient shooting. Curry will likely continue to see limited minutes throughout the preseason to preserve his health for the regular season. The star guard played in just 43 regular-season games in 2025-26.
-
Alex Toohey SF | GS
Warriors' Alex Toohey: Logs eight minutes off the bench
Toohey (knee) registered two points (1-2 FG), one assist, one steal and two blocks over eight minutes in Sunday's 104-101 preseason loss to the Clippers.
Toohey sat out Summer League, as he was recovering from knee surgery, but he's now fully cleared for game action. He's competing for a spot on the Warriors' regular-season roster.

Nikola Jokic C | DEN
Nuggets' Nikola Jokic: Dishes seven assists
Jokic recorded three points (1-1 FG, 1-2 FT), seven assists, three rebounds, one steal and a block in 14 minutes during Sunday's 109-97 preseason loss to the Jazz.
Jokic played facilitator almost exclusively Sunday, totaling a game-high seven assists while only recording one official field-goal attempt. Despite not looking for his shot, Jokic added to his highlight tape with a crafty behind-the-back pass along the baseline, which resulted in a Cameron Johnson three-pointer. The star big man is expected to retain a limited role throughout the preseason to preserve his health for the regular season.
