VJ Edgecombe SG | PHI
76ers' VJ Edgecombe: Nets 19 points with four steals
Edgecombe put up 19 points (6-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, four assists and four steals over 26 minutes in Saturday's 144-106 preseason loss to the Celtics.
Edgecombe saw a big uptick in usage with Jaylen Brown (rest), LeBron James (rest) and Joel Embiid (rest) all sitting this one out, and he made the most of the increased opportunity. With new additions Brown and James, Edgecombe could at times find it difficult to assert himself in the offense, but he should do enough with the triples, dimes and defensive stats to remain fantasy-relevant.

Jayson Tatum PF | BOS
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Scores 23 in preseason blowout win
Tatum posted 23 points (9-19 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, four assists and a steal across 27 minutes in Saturday's 144-106 preseason win over the 76ers.
The 76ers rested several key players, including Joel Embiid and LeBron James, so Tatum took advantage of favorable matchups to rank second on the Celtics in scoring behind Payton Pritchard, who exploded for 25 points off the bench. This was Tatum's first game of the preseason, and the Celtics are expected to monitor his workload carefully to have him in top condition for the regular-season opener against the Pistons on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

Paul Reed C | DET
Pistons' Paul Reed: Close to double-double Saturday
Reed posted 11 points (4-8 FG, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and two steals in Saturday's 114-108 preseason loss to the Wizards.
Reed was one of five Detroit players -- and one of three starters -- to score in double digits, and he finished second in both rebounds and steals. Reed made the most of the absence of Jalen Duren (rest), but when the latter is healthy, Reed will operate as his backup off the bench, limiting his fantasy upside considerably.

Anthony Davis C | WAS
Wizards' Anthony Davis: Double-doubles in preseason win
Davis logged 10 points (3-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal over 22 minutes during Saturday's 114-108 overtime win over the Pistons.
All of Davis' production came in the first half, with the veteran big man observing the entire second half from the bench. He's scored in double digits in limited playing time across his first two preseason games, and Davis will likely continue to operate under a minutes restriction to keep him fresh ahead of the Wizards' regular-season opener against the Bucks on Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Luka Garza PF | BOS
Celtics' Luka Garza: Leaves Saturday's game late
Garza (nose) went to the locker room late in the fourth quarter of Saturday's preseason game against the 76ers, Bobby Manning of CLNS Media Network reports.
Garza took an inadvertent elbow to the nose from teammate Chris Cenac, and the former was taken to the locker room shortly thereafter. He didn't return to the hardwood, ending his night with eight points (4-9 FG), seven rebounds and one assist over 11 minutes.

Oso Ighodaro C | PHO
Suns' Oso Ighodaro: Not starting Monday
Ighodaro is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's preseason game against the Spurs, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
The Suns will make several lineup changes for this contest, and Ighodaro will move to the bench to make way for Khaman Maluach. Both players are competing to be the Suns' starting center on Opening Night against the Trail Blazers on Oct. 21.
-
Ryan Dunn SF | PHO
Suns' Ryan Dunn: Starting Saturday
Dunn will start in Saturday's preseason game against the Spurs, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
Dunn is getting the start with Miles Bridges (ankle) unavailable for Saturday's exhibition. As a starter last season, Dunn averaged 9.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 triples and 1.3 steals per game.
-
Luke Kennard SG | PHO
Suns' Luke Kennard: Starting vs. San Antonio
Kennard is in the starting lineup for Saturday's preseason game against the Spurs, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
Kennard will get the nod in the starting lineup over Devin Booker, who will be rested for this contest. Kennard averaged 8.4 points per game while shooting 47.8 percent from three-point range in the 2025-26 regular season, and most of his fantasy value in 2026-27 will come from his shooting ability.
-
De'Aaron Fox PG | SA
Spurs' De'Aaron Fox: Won't play against Phoenix
Fox (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday's preseason game against the Suns, Matt Guzman of SI.com reports.
Fox will end up missing two consecutive preseason games due to general soreness, so his next chance to play is Monday against the Jazz. Dylan Harper and Stephon Castle will form the Spurs' starting backcourt for Saturday's exhibition contest.
-
Khaman Maluach C | PHO
Suns' Khaman Maluach: Starting Saturday
Maluach will be in the starting lineup for Saturday's preseason matchup with the Spurs, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
Oso Ighodaro started Phoenix's first two preseason games, but now Maluach will have an opportunity to make a case for himself as a starter. Joining him in the first unit for Saturday's exhibition will be Jalen Green, Luke Kennard, Dillon Brooks and Ryan Dunn.
