  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Well-rounded showing in win

Tatum tallied 23 points (7-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and one steal across 28 minutes in Monday's 134-99 win over Chicago.

Tatum turned in another productive showing after stuffing the stat sheet in Friday's win over the Knicks. The star forward finished as Boston's second-leading scorer, reaching the 20-point threshold for a second straight game. He also tied for the team high in rebounds and paced all players in assists, dishing out at least six assists for the third time in as many regular-season appearances thus far.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Stuffs stat sheet in win

Tatum tallied 36 points (14-26 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 5-5 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists and three steals across 37 minutes in Friday's 107-103 win over the Knicks.

After shooting just 6-for-23 from the field and scoring 13 points in Tuesday's season-opening loss to Detroit, Tatum bounced back in a major way Friday. The star forward wasn't shy about hunting his shot and finished with a game-high 36 points, 25 of which came in the second half. The 28-year-old also led the Celtics in rebounds, assists and steals in a well-rounded effort.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Double-doubles in loss

Tatum closed with 13 points (6-23 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds and 11 assists across 38 minutes during Tuesday's 121-113 loss to the Pistons.

Tatum simply couldn't get anything going from the floor, en route to just 13 points, including 0-of-7 from the perimeter. If we're being honest, this could be one of his worst shooting performances of the season, a reassuring fact for fantasy managers. With that said, Tatum certainly had his fingerprints all over the game, handing out a game-high 11 assists. It appeared as though his playmaking was by design, an interesting wrinkle, should it be an ongoing theme.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Expected to suit up Tuesday

Tatum (rest) is expected to play in Tuesday's opener against the Pistons.

Tatum didn't play in the 125-120 preseason overtime win over the 76ers on Friday. However, since he sat out that contest to rest, he is in line to play Tuesday in Detroit. The six-time All-Star appeared in 16 regular-season games in 2025-26 after working his way back from an Achilles injury, averaging 21.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.4 steals across 32.6 minutes per contest. With Jaylen Brown now in Philadelphia, Tatum is the undisputed top offensive option for the Celtics, and assuming he stays healthy, he should be considered an MVP candidate entering the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Out Friday

Tatum (rest) won't play in Friday's preseason finale against the 76ers, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Leading scorer in preseason win

Tatum tallied 19 points (8-17 FG, 3-8 3Pt), eight rebounds, six assists and two steals across 29 minutes in Wednesday's 114-93 preseason win over the Hornets.

Tatum was one of five Celtics to score in double figures, finishing as the game's leading scorer while also hauling in a team-high number of rebounds. Boston has one preseason game remaining Friday against Philadelphia, though the club could opt to rest its franchise player ahead of Tuesday's regular-season opener at Detroit.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Scores 23 in preseason blowout win

Tatum posted 23 points (9-19 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, four assists and a steal across 27 minutes in Saturday's 144-106 preseason win over the 76ers.

The 76ers rested several key players, including Joel Embiid and LeBron James, so Tatum took advantage of favorable matchups to rank second on the Celtics in scoring behind Payton Pritchard, who exploded for 25 points off the bench. This was Tatum's first game of the preseason, and the Celtics are expected to monitor his workload carefully to have him in top condition for the regular-season opener against the Pistons on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Starting Saturday

Tatum (rest) is in the starting lineup for Saturday's preseason game against the 76ers, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports.

The Celtics will be starting most of their regulars in this preseason contest, meaning Tatum will return to the hardwood after missing the previous game. It wouldn't be surprising if they monitor his workload, with the regular season right around the corner.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Feeling explosive ahead of camp

Tatum said he "feels great" as he continues his recovery, noting that he's now 16 and a half months removed from surgery, Zack Cox of the Boston Herald reports.

The extended offseason has allowed him to focus on getting stronger and becoming more explosive while working on his body as a whole. These are encouraging comments from a fantasy perspective as Tatum enters the 2026-27 season with a clean bill of health.
