Clippers' Narcisse Ngoy: Not playing for LAC in 2026-27
Ngoy (not injury related) plans to play for Auburn during the 2026-27 campaign, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
The Clippers traded for Ngoy's draft rights but will stash him at the collegiate level, as he had already committed to playing at Auburn prior to the 2026 NBA Draft. The No. 57 overall pick most recently played for Poitiers in France's LNB Pro B.

Kyle made stops at South Dakota State and UCLA before spending his final collegiate season at Syracuse in 2025-26. The 22-year-old appeared and started in 32 games with the Orange, averaging 8.4 points while posting career highs in rebounds (7.1) and blocks (2.5).

Gary Trent Jr. SF | MIL
Bucks' Gary Trent: Expected to decline player option
Trent (oblique) is expected to decline his $3.9 million player option for 2026-27, Chris Haynes of NBA TV reports.
The decision would allow Trent to hit the open market as an unrestricted free agent later this summer. The veteran swingman averaged 8.1 points, 1.2 assists, 1.0 rebounds and 1.9 three-pointers in 21.2 minutes per contest over 65 regular-season games last season with the Bucks, and his fantasy outlook for next year remains murky until his next destination is determined.

Kylan Boswell: Inking two-way deal with Hornets
The Hornets are signing Boswell to a two-way contract.

Tamar Bates SG | UTA
Jazz's Tamar Bates: Plans to sign with Utah
Bates (foot) intends to sign a two-way contract with the Jazz, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports Friday.
Bates joined the Nuggets on a two-way contract last July and underwent surgery to repair a fractured left foot in December before being waived in March. He'll now join the Jazz, though the 23-year-old will likely spend most of his time with their G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars. Over 13 appearances with the G League's Grand Rapids Gold last season, he averaged 19.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.6 steals in 33.2 minutes per showing.

Jose Alvarado PG | NY
Knicks' Jose Alvarado: Inks new pact with New York
Alvarado is declining his $4.5 million player option and intends to sign a three-year, $14 million-plus contract with the Knicks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports Friday.
After being traded from New Orleans to New York in February and winning a championship with the Knicks, Alvarado is set to remain in New York. The 28-year-old point guard will likely continue playing a meaningful role off the bench behind Jalen Brunson. Over 28 regular-season appearances (three starts) with the Knicks, Alvarado averaged 6.6 points, 3.8 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 16.9 minutes per showing.

Dereck Lively II C | DAL
Mavericks' Dereck Lively: Not ready to resume running
Lively (foot) still hasn't progressed to running yet, per Christian Clark of The Athletic.
Lively is walking and lifting weights, though he's not quite ready to enter the next phase of his rehab. The 22-year-old big man is recovering from right foot surgery, which cut his season short in December of last year, and it remains uncertain if he'll be a full participant in training camp this fall. The Mavericks did take Morez Johnson with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft to improve their frontcourt, but Lively remains the most likely candidate to open next season as Dallas' starting center.

Mitchell Robinson C | BOS
Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: May be headed elsewhere this summer
It could be a challenge for the Knicks to re-sign Robinson this summer, Ian Begley of SNY reports.
Knicks owner James Dolan vowed earlier this offseason to keep the team under the second apron, which will likely entail New York having to choose between re-signing either Robinson or Landry Shamet to remain under this salary cap. If Robinson winds up being the odd man out, Ariel Hukporti or Mohamed Diawara could be thrust into the primary backup center role behind Karl-Anthony Towns next season, unless New York were to swing a trade or make another addition to reinforce the center position.

Jimmy Butler SF | GS
Warriors' Jimmy Butler: Hopes to resume running this summer
Butler believes he's about a month and a half away from running again after tearing his right ACL in January, per Nick Friedell of The Athletic.
Butler still has plenty of hurdles to climb during his rehab, but it's encouraging to hear he's making some progress this offseason. The initial expectation remains that the star forward won't be ready to play to begin the 2026-27 season, though how much time he'll miss will likely hinge upon his progression as well as the level of caution Golden State proceeds with.

Duke Miles SG | PHI
76ers' Duke Miles: Signing Exhibit 10 deal
The 76ers are signing Miles to an Exhibit 10 contract Friday, per Tony Jones of The Athletic.
Miles, who went undrafted out of Vanderbilt, is joining Philadelphia for training camp and presumably Summer League as well. The rookie guard will have a chance to compete for a roster spot this offseason; otherwise, he may have to settle for a role with the G League's Delaware Blue Coats this fall.
