  • Rockets' Alperen Sengun: Ruled out Friday

Sengun (back) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Mavericks, Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Sengun will miss a second consecutive contest due to lower-back soreness, opening up additional minutes in the frontcourt for Tari Eason and Clint Capela. Sengun's next chance to play will come Saturday against the Thunder in the second leg of this back-to-back set.

  • Marcus Smart PG | HOU

Rockets' Marcus Smart: Likely to play

Smart (forearm) is expected to play in Friday's game against the Mavericks, Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Smart is on the cusp of ending a three-game absence with a forearm strain. He should play a bigger role with Reed Sheppard (back) out of the lineup Friday.

  • Grizzlies' Scotty Pippen: Questionable for Saturday

Pippen (back) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Kings.

Pippen has appeared in all five of the Grizzlies' regular-season games, though he's now in danger of missing Saturday's meeting with Sacramento. With Ty Jerome (back) also questionable, Pippen might find himself in the starting lineup. However, if neither of those players can suit up, Cam Spencer may get the start.

  • Mavericks' Sergio de Larrea: To be re-evaluated next week

Head coach Dusty May said Friday that de Larrea (knee) will be re-evaluated next week, Noah Weber of TheSmokingCuban.com reports.

De Larrea sprained his right knee in Monday's win over Miami and is without a definitive timetable for a return to action. However, his absence shouldn't cause any significant waves in the rotation.

  • Ty Jerome PG | MEM

Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Questionable versus Kings

Jerome (back) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Kings.

This isn't the first mention of Jerome's nagging back issue, though it didn't stop him from suiting up for the 124-103 win over the Trail Blazers on Thursday. The 29-year-old has played at an All-Star level in his five regular-season appearances in 2026-27, averaging 25.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 5.8 assists, all career highs, along with 1.0 steals in 29.8 minutes per contest. With that in mind, if Jerome can't get on the floor Saturday versus Sacramento, Cam Spencer and Scotty Pippen (back) are candidates for more minutes.

  • Chet Holmgren PF | OKC

Thunder's Chet Holmgren: Remains out for Saturday

Holmgren (knee) remains out for Saturday's road game against Houston, Justin Martinez of The Oklahoman reports.

Holmgren will miss a third consecutive contest due to a right knee issue. His next chance to play will come Monday against Cleveland. Kenrich Williams, Jaylin Williams and Brooks Barnhizer are candidates for a significant bump in minutes due to the Thunder being shorthanded.

  • Quinten Post C | MEM

Grizzlies' Quinten Post: Doubtful for Saturday

Post (ankle) is doubtful for Saturday's game against the Kings.

A right ankle sprain is expected to cost Post at least one contest. Assuming he's eventually downgraded to out, more playing time should fall into the hands of Isaiah Stewart as the No. 2 center Saturday.

  • Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Cleared to play Friday

Towns (wrist) is available for Friday's meeting with the 76ers, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.

Towns sustained a left wrist sprain in Wednesday's win over the Bulls. He was able to play through the injury and will now suit up for Friday's contest after drawing a probable tag. The star big man is averaging 21.8 points, 13.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 31.0 minutes per game across five regular-season outings.

  • Heat's Simone Fontecchio: Suiting up Friday

Fontecchio (illness) is available for Friday's game against the Pacers, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.

Fontecchio will return from a one-game absence due to an illness. However, he isn't guaranteed to see meaningful playing time.

  • Santi Aldama C | DAL

Mavericks' Santi Aldama: Out again Friday

Aldama (knee) is listed as out for Friday's game against the Rockets.

Aldama continues to make progress in his recovery from right knee surgery, though he won't be ready to suit up for Friday's meeting with Houston. Without Aldama on the floor, Zaccharie Risacher, Morez Johnson, Caleb Martin and Moussa Cisse should all continue to see extra minutes.
