Doncic put on a masterclass during Sunday's matinee, helping the Lakers claw back from an early 18-point deficit as he notched his first 50-point performance of the season. It was the 10th 50-point game of Doncic's career, and he became just the third Laker in franchise history to tally 50-plus points and 10 assists in a game, joining Elgin Baylor and Jerry West.

He finished third on the team in scoring and committed a career-high 11 turnovers. He played much better in Wednesday's opener, scoring 28 points in three quarters against Golden State. With LeBron James gone to Philadelphia, last season's scoring champion is the centerpiece in Los Angeles, and he'll look to bounce back Sunday in Utah.

Doncic opened the regular season with a strong all-around performance, and while his shooting line wasn't entirely efficient, he caused damage from three while also filling out that stat sheet as he often does -- he ended just two rebounds and three assists away from a triple-double despite playing just 30 minutes. Scoring prowess aside, his rebounding and playmaking reinforce his elite fantasy ceiling. The six turnovers were a drawback, but his high usage should keep him among the league's most productive fantasy options every time he steps on the hardwood.

Doncic received a rest day and skipped Tuesday's exhibition loss to the Warriors, but he'll get back out there for Friday's preseason finale. With Doncic active, Quentin Grimes will shift back to the second unit.
