  • Brown (ankle) hasn't been cleared to practice with contact and remains without a timetable for a return, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports. Brown suffered an ankle injury before the start of training camp, and while he's been able to get back on the court in a limited capacity, the team is taking a cautious approach to his rehab. "Yeah, as of right now they're just telling me you could get back to moving a little bit, really just trying to get the strengthening it back up," said Brown on Thursday. "I mean, I am back on the court moving. That's all I'm really worried about right now. I'm just taking it one step at a time." It remains to be seen whether Brown will be cleared in time to play in the preseason.

  • General manager Sean Marks said Monday that Brown rolled his ankle last week and will ramp up at the start of training camp, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports. The team "doesn't expect him to miss considerable time," though Brown's status will be worth monitoring heading into the Nets' preseason opener against the Hornets on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The rookie guard was selected with the sixth overall pick this summer and figures to take on a sizable role early in his career. Over 21 appearances (19 starts) at Louisville in 2025-26, he averaged 18.2 points, 4.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals while shooting 41.0 percent from the field in 29.2 minutes per game.

Brown (rest) is primed for a significant role ahead of his rookie season in 2026-27. The Nets chose Brown with the No. 6 overall pick in this year's draft, so they likely have big plans in mind for the 20-year-old guard right away in 2026-27. Brown, who averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.2 three-pointers per game over four Summer League appearances, is lined up to share Brooklyn's starting backcourt with Egor Demin.

    • By RotoWire

Brown (rest) has been ruled out for Sunday's Summer League game against the Thunder, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports. Brown will take a seat for Brooklyn's Summer League finale. The rookie No. 6 overall pick appeared in three Las Vegas Summer League games, averaging 16.7 points, 4.0 assists, 1.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 22.5 minutes per contest.

  • Brown finished with 14 points (3-15 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, four assists and one steal across 27 minutes in Thursday's 100-83 Summer League loss to Houston. Brown recorded his lowest-scoring total in three Las Vegas Summer League appearances. He also shot less than 50.0 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from deep for the first time during that stretch. Still, it's been a mostly positive summer for the 20-year-old rookie. Although Brown is expected to have his share of struggles during his inaugural campaign, he should still receive more than enough opportunities to produce right away.
