Erick Fedde SP | CHW
White Sox's Erick Fedde: Likely to fill bulk-relief role
Fedde is expected to work in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Bryan Hudson in Saturday's game against the Athletics, Brooke Fletcher of Chicago Sports Network reports.
Fedde remains part of Chicago's rotation, but he's been used as a traditional starter just once in his last six outings. Hudson is expected to cover an inning or two before turning the game over to Fedde, who owns a 4.20 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 29:17 K:BB in 40.2 innings out of the bullpen this season.

Kyle Leahy SP | STL
Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Rain leads to early exit
Leahy didn't factor into the decision Friday against Atlanta after allowing one hit over three scoreless innings. He struck out two and did not issue a walk.
Leahy was hardly dominant as he tallied just one swinging strike on 44 pitches, but he kept Atlanta off the board by inducing five groundouts before a long rain delay ended his evening. The 30-year-old saw his two-start win streak come to an end Friday thanks to the rain, but he continued his strong run of form with just one run allowed in his past four starts. Leahy will head into the All-Star break with a 3.73 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 75:33 K:BB through 89.1 innings -- already the largest workload of his big-league career after he operated as a reliever the past few years.

Chris Sale SP | ATL
Braves' Chris Sale: Start shortened by rain
Sale didn't factor in the decision Friday against the Cardinals after striking out five and giving up two hits and a walk across three scoreless innings.
The left-hander generated nine whiffs on just 43 pitches (30 strikes) through three frames, but a lengthy rain delay guaranteed an early departure from his final start before the All-Star break. The shortened showing ends a streak of 13 straight outings of at least five innings for Sale, who hasn't surrendered more than three runs in an appearance since April 6 in Anaheim. The 37-year-old closes out the first half of the season with a 2.20 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 117:25 K:BB across 98 innings.

Robbie Ray SP | SF
Giants' Robbie Ray: Shaky command in no-decision
Ray allowed one run on four hits and six walks while striking out four over five-plus innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Friday.
Even by his standards, this was a poor showing in the command department for Ray, who threw just 53 of 100 pitches for strikes. It snapped his four-game winning streak, but he still hasn't allowed more than three runs in each of his last five outings. For the season, Ray is at a 3.38 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 90:52 K:BB through 106.2 innings over 19 games (18 starts). He's done well with run prevention this season considering his 4.4 BB/9 is second-worst in the majors, better than only Joey Cantillo.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Eduardo Rodriguez: Settles in after rough first inning
Rodriguez (8-3) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five over six innings to earn the win over the Dodgers on Friday.
Rodriguez got off to a shaky start, allowing back-to-back home runs to Shohei Ohtani and Andy Pages to begin the bottom of the first inning. It got better for Rodriguez after that, and he ended up with his fifth straight quality start after settling down. He's allowed just six runs over 32.2 innings in that span. The veteran southpaw continues to impress with a 2.29 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 79:39 K:BB through 114 innings over 19 starts this season. Rodriguez has benefited from a career-best .248 BABIP while allowing just 12 homers this season compared to 25 over 154.1 innings in 2025.

Sean Burke SP | CHW
White Sox's Sean Burke: Fans nine in dominant performance
Burke (6-4) earned the win Friday against the Athletics after tossing seven innings of one-run ball, allowing four hits and striking out nine.
Burke came just two strikeouts shy of matching his season high in that category, and this was the fourth time in his last five outings he's fanned at least eight. With a 1.69 ERA across 32 innings over that five-game stretch, Burke heads into the All-Star break full of momentum. He'll aim to carry his impressive run of results into his next start, tentatively scheduled for Friday, July 17, on the road against the Blue Jays.

JP Sears SP | SD
Padres' JP Sears: Takes loss versus Blue Jays
Sears (2-2) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three over 4.1 innings to take the loss versus the Blue Jays on Friday.
Sears gave up one run in the fourth inning and left a mess on the bases in the fifth. Jhony Brito wasn't able to prevent additional damage, giving up a three-run home run to Kazuma Okamoto to tack on two extra runs on Sears' line. Over four starts, Sears has a 5.03 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB through 19.2 innings. It's not yet clear if Sears will maintain a spot in the rotation after the All-Star break.

Aaron Civale SP | ATH
Athletics' Aaron Civale: Losing streak reaches six games
Civale (5-7) was tagged with the loss Friday against the White Sox after allowing four runs on six hits and a walk across 2.1 innings. He struck out four.
Civale worked behind Jacob Lopez, who tossed 1.2 scoreless innings as the opener, but he didn't have his best stuff against one of the hottest lineups in the American League. Civale has dropped his last six starts, posting an inflated 10.17 ERA over 23 innings in that stretch. Civale doesn't look like the pitcher who posted a 2.70 ERA over his first nine starts of the campaign. He's tabbed to make his next start on the road against the Diamondbacks on Monday, July 20.

Shane Bieber SP | TOR
Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Falls shy of five-inning mark again
Bieber allowed two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Friday.
Bieber did better in this outing than his last one, but it was still an inefficient performance. He threw 54 of 97 pitches for strikes and wasn't able to stay in the game long enough to earn his first win. He's pitched to a 7.64 ERA and 13:10 K:BB across 17.2 innings over his four starts in the majors this season, and he's also allowed seven home runs. If Bieber continues to get hit hard, that will limit his effectiveness.

Nick Martinez SP | TB
Rays' Nick Martinez: Records eighth win of season
Martinez (8-2) earned the win Friday against the Mariners after allowing two runs on four hits and a walk across 5.1 innings, striking out one.
Martinez gave up a solo shot to Cole Young, his 11th of the year, in the top of the fifth inning, but that would be the only run the right-hander allowed. Martinez has allowed just one earned run in each of his past three starts, posting a blistering 1.65 ERA across 16.1 frames over that stretch. His next start should come against the Blue Jays on the road on Monday, July 20.
