  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Launches ninth homer

Dickerson went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Monday's 7-2 loss to the Rockies.

After being activated from the paternity list earlier in the day, Dickerson showed off some new-dad power, accounting for half of the Giants' hits in the contest. His biggest was a seventh-inning blast off reliever Carlos Estevez. Dickerson is up to nine homers, 26 RBI, 23 runs scored and a .290/.365/.565 slash line in 45 contests.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Expected to return to field Tuesday

Turner will likely play third base Tuesday for the first time since returning from the injured list, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

According to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Turner will start at third base in Tuesday's game against Oakland. The veteran has served as the designated hitter during each of his five starts since returning from the injured list Sept. 15, hitting .389 (7-for-18) with three walks over that span.

  • Astros' Michael Brantley: Three hits in loss

Brantley went 3-for-4 in Monday's 6-1 loss to the Mariners.

All three of Brantley's hits were singles, and Mariners starter Marco Gonzales did well to prevent the outfielder from getting home each time. In 41 games, Brantley is slashing .311/.373/.490 with four homers, 21 RBI, 21 runs scored and a stolen base.

  • Nick Solak 1B | PIT

Rangers' Nick Solak: Collects three hits in loss

Solak went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored Monday against the Angels.

Solak collected an RBI in the third inning, putting his team ahead 3-1. Los Angeles would rally later on, however, coming away with an 8-5 victory. The 25-year-old is slashing .268/.321/.353 with two home runs, 21 RBI and six stolen bases over 52 games this season with Texas.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Progressing toward return

Choi (hamstring) looked good in a pair of batting practice sessions Sunday and Monday and will participate in live batting practice soon, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Choi has been out for just over one of the 2-to-3 weeks he was expected to miss when he landed on the injured list with a Grade 1 hamstring strain. Unless that initial timeline was inaccurate, he won't be returning before the end of the regular season, but it appears he has a good shot to return for the playoffs.

  • Brad Miller DH | SD

Cardinals' Brad Miller: Retreats to bench

Miller isn't in Monday's lineup against the Royals.

Miller has been in a slump recently as he's gone 0-for-16 with one run, two walks and eight strikeouts over the last six games. He'll get a breather Monday as Matt Carpenter starts as the designated hitter with Tommy Edman taking over at third base.

  • Jorge Soler DH | LAA

Royals' Jorge Soler: Back from injury

Soler (oblique) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Soler will wind up missing around two weeks with a strained right oblique. He was hitting a respectable .235/.331/.456 prior to the injury, though that's not in the same ballpark as the .265/.354/.569 line he managed in his breakout 2019 campaign. Kelvin Gutierrez was optioned in a corresponding move.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Reinstated from paternity list

Dickerson was reinstated from the paternity list and is starting Monday against the Rockies, Amy Gutierrez of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Marisnick spent just two days on the paternity list, and he'll return to the Giants' active roster as the team competes for a spot in the postseason over the final week of the regular season. He's leading off and starting in left field Monday.

  • Phillies' Andrew McCutchen: Takes seat Monday

McCutchen isn't in the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.

McCutchen will retreat to the bench for Monday's series opener in Washington after going 2-for-18 over the past five games. Adam Haseley will take over in left field.

  • Franmil Reyes DH | WAS

Indians' Franmil Reyes: Shows keen eye at plate

Reyes went 0-for-1 with three walks and a run scored Sunday in the Indians' 7-4 win over the Tigers.

While Reyes has shown a discerning eye at the plate in September (15.7 percent walk rate), his lack of production in the power department of late has been disappointing for fantasy managers. He's failed to hit a home run in three weeks while submitting a lowly .190/.314/.224 slash line over the Indians' last 17 games. The extended drought hasn't prompted manager Terry Francona to rest Reyes more regularly or push him down the batting order; he'll make a 44th straight start as Cleveland's designated hitter Monday against the White Sox while batting fifth.
