Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Day off Wednesday
Cabrera is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Angels, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Cabrera is riding a four-game hitting streak after a stretch in which he went 2-for-35 at the plate over nine games. Nick Castellanos will be the designated hitter (unless he gets traded before the game begins), with Brandon Dixon starting in right field.

Daniel Vogelbach DH | TOR
Mariners' Daniel Vogelbach: Multi-hit effort in win
Vogelbach went 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a double, a walk and two runs in a win over the Rangers on Tuesday.
Vogelbach has now hit safely in five of his last six games, a welcome turnaround from a poor start to the month. The 26-year-old has five extra-base hits (three doubles, two home runs) during that span, but he's still hitting a middling .209 overall during July.

Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Gets breather
Turner is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Rockies, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Turner will take a seat on the bench for Wednesday's series finale after starting the past 11 games and slashing .231/.375/.590 with four home runs and a 9:7 BB:K during that stretch. In his place, Max Muncy is starting at the hot corner and hitting second.

Charlie Blackmon RF | COL
Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Back in action Wednesday
Blackmon (back) is starting in right field and batting leadoff Wednesday against the Dodgers, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Blackmon apparently felt good during a round of batting practice Tuesday, clearing the way for him to rejoin the starting lineup after missing the past two games with back spasms. The veteran outfielder, who is slashing .266/.309/.391 with one home run and five RBI in 16 games since the All-Star break, will face lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu in his return to action.
-
Brandon Belt DH | TOR
Giants' Brandon Belt: Homers off bench
Belt hit a solo home run in his lone plate appearance off the bench in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Phillies.
Belt was excluded from the starting lineup against the left-handed Drew Smyly, but he was able to contribute his 12th homer once a righty entered the contest. The 31-year-old hasn't been a true platoon bat over his career (.250/.338/.421 career marks against lefties), but he has struggled mightily against same-handed pitchers in 2019 (.200/.330/.326 over 112 plate appearances). Expect Belt to return to the lineup Wednesday with a righty scheduled for Philadelphia.

Ryan Goins DH | KC
White Sox's Ryan Goins: Fills in for Moncada
Goins entered Tuesday's game after Yoan Moncada (hamstring) departed and went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in a 5-2 loss to the Mets.
Moncada attempted to play through an injury that bothered him prior to the game. Goins, who had been getting regular starts at shortstop while Tim Anderson (ankle) was sidelined, should be the primary fill-in if Moncada misses any more playing time. Anderson returned to the lineup Tuesday, so shortstop is no longer a viable source of consistent playing time for Goins.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Racks up three hits, stolen base
Ohtani went 3-for-4 with a stolen base, a run scored and an RBI in a win against the Tigers on Tuesday.
Ohtani entered the game in a 2-for-20 cold spell but found a groove against Detroit, singling three times to notch his sixth game of three or more hits this season. In his second campaign in the majors, the Japanese phenom has slashed .292/.356/.521 while posting 15 homers, 43 RBI and nine stolen bases in 289 plate appearances.

Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Cranks 16th homer
Turner went 1-for-3 two-run home run, two runs and a pair of walks in the Dodgers' 9-4 win over the Rockies on Tuesday.
The veteran checked in with his 16th long ball of the season with a two-run shot off Chad Bettis in the fourth inning. Turner is turning in another solid season at the dish in 2019, as he's now slashing .288/.373/.480 across 403 plate appearances.
-
Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT
Cardinals' Marcell Ozuna: Singles in first rehab game
Ozuna (finger) went 1-for-3 with an RBI single in Triple-A Memphis' win over Albuquerque on Tuesday.
Ozuna started in left field and played five innings before being replaced by pinch runner Randy Arozarena in the home half of the frame. Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports that Ozuna is slated to play another five innings in the field Wednesday and remains hopeful of being activated as early as this weekend's series against the Athletics.

Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Pops 10th homer
Buxton went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Marlins.
His third-inning blast off Zac Gallen opened the scoring on the night. Buxton has now gone 7-for-17 (.412) in five games since rejoining the Twins lineup, boosting his slash line on the year to .260/.313/.511 through 80 contests with 10 homers and 13 steals.
