McLain (calf) rejoined the Reds after spending the All-Star break at the team's training complex in Goodyear (Ariz.), MLB.com reports.
McLain has been hitting in a cage and took groundballs Thursday during a team workout at Coors Field ahead of a three-game set against the Rockies. He was placed on the 10-day injured list July 10 retroactive to July 8 and, beginning Saturday, is eligible to return at any time.
