Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen fell a triple-shy of the cycle in Saturday's 8-2 win over the Mets. The former NL MVP got the scoring started with his sixth home run of the season, a two-run shot in the bottom of the first inning off Matt Harvey. McCutchen then singled in the fifth before lacing a double in the seventh.
Overall, McCutchen went 3 for 4 with two RBI and a run scored. His batting average is up to .258 and is 10 for 28 over his last eight games.
