Madrigal (hamstring) is scheduled to run the bases Wednesday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
That will be a big step forward in his recovery from the right hamstring strain that sent him to the 10-day injured list July 4. It would appear that Madrigal could be back on the Cubs' active roster as soon as this weekend.
