  • Jaguars' Parker Washington: Day-to-day with undisclosed injury

Washington is considered day-to-day with an undisclosed injury, Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union reports.

Per Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com, Washington is expected back next week, meaning that the wideout isn't in line to be available for Friday's preseason contest against the Panthers. It remains to be seen if Washington will see any action in the Jaguars' Aug. 28 exhibition finale, but it doesn't appear at this time that his Week 1 status is in question.

  • Jaguars' Parker Washington: Sits out Saturday's preseason opener

Washington did not play in the Jaguars' 24-20 preseason win versus the Saints on Saturday.

Washington sat out along with the rest of Jacksonville's key starters, leaving undrafted rookie Trebor Pena to lead the team with three receptions for 58 yards. The 2023 second-round pick is coming off a career-best season, tallying 58 catches (on 96 targets) for 847 yards and five touchdowns across 16 regular-season games last year. Washington also had a strong start to training camp this offseason, and he should be in line for a significant role alongside fellow starting wideouts Brian Thomas and Jakobi Meyers.

  • Jaguars' Parker Washington: Strong start in training camp

Washington is off to a good start in training camp, according to John Shipley of SI.com.

Washington is operating in a deep and talented WR corps that also includes Brian Thomas, Jakobi Meyers and Travis Hunter, but Shipley noted Sunday that Washington has routinely been the top target for QB Trevor Lawrence in practice during training camp. Meanwhile, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com relays that Thomas, a 2024 first-rounder and projected starter, also has started camp on a positive note. With Meyers also on track to see his share of volume this season and Hunter potentially making a splash when he's not logging cornerback snaps, Washington has plenty of competition for targets, but the chemistry he's displayed with Lawrence thus far this summer nonetheless bodes well for his chances of building off his strong effort down the stretch last season.

  • Jaguars' Parker Washington: Top candidate to return punts

Washington is likely to remain the Jaguars' primary punt returner in 2026, John Shipley of SI.com reports.

Washington excelled on offense down the stretch in 2025, catching 19 of 29 targets for 347 yards and two touchdowns across Jacksonville's last three regular-season games before adding seven catches for 107 yards and a touchdown in the team's playoff loss to the Bills. Marquee offensive players rarely maintain prominent roles on special teams, but Jacksonville's coaching staff has praised Washington's punt-returning prowess throughout the team's offseason program, so Washington seems poised to continue filling that role on special teams while contributing on offense as part of a wide receiver room that also includes Brian Thomas and Jakobi Meyers. Head coach Liam Coen also recently praised Washington's work ethic, per Shipley.

  • Jaguars' Parker Washington: Candidate for extension

Washington could be the next Jaguars players to receive an extension, Paul Bretlof Jaguars Wire reports.

Bretl cites ESPN's Michael DiRocco, who speculates that Washington is "next in line" to be extended by Jacksonville. DiRocco has also noted that the Jaguars and Washington had "preliminary discussions" about an extension shortly after the end of the 2025 season, so getting a deal done seems to already be on the minds of both the player and the team. Washington was quiet over his first two NFL campaigns before breaking out last year, when he posted career-high marks with 58 catches, 96 targets, 847 receiving yards and five touchdowns while also returning two punts for scores. Washington is expected to remain Jacksonville's top punt returner during the upcoming campaign, and he's slated to be part of a potentially potent wide-receiver trio alongside Brian Thomas and Jakobi Meyers.
