Buchanan compiled six total tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 30-16 win over the Bears, but he may have left the game a little worse for wear. The linebacker is dealing with an apparent calf injury, which forced him to be considered less than 100 percent at the team's walkthrough Monday. Buchanan will have two more chances to log a full session before Thursday night's matchup with the Dolphins.

Buchanan was one of the team's few bright spots in the loss, matching Trenton Simpson for the most tackles on the team while playing every defensive snap. The rookie fourth-round pick is off to a strong start this season, racking up 49 tackles (23 solo) across his first six appearances.
Buchanan logged 15 tackles (eight solo) during the Ravens' 44-10 loss to the Texans on Sunday.
The rookie fourth-rounder was one of three Ravens players to play all 70 defensive snaps and finished as the game's leading tackler. Buchanan has started in each of the Ravens' last four games and is up to 40 tackles (20 solo) through the first five regular-season games of his NFL career.

The Ravens selected Buchanan in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 129th overall.
Buchanan spent the first three years of his college career at UC-Davis before joining Cal in his final season, where he went on to lead that team in tackles (114), sacks (5.0) and tackles for loss (12.0), earning him First Team All-ACC honors in 2024. Having a history under center, Buchanan possesses a high football IQ, which he utilizes to his advantage on the defensive side, allowing him to quickly digest plays in the middle of the defense. He'll try to carve out a role in the middle for the Ravens and may be asked to help on special teams as well.
