Marcus Major: Let go by Baltimore
The Ravens waived Major (concussion) on Wednesday, per the NFL's transaction report.
Major wasn't waived with an injury designation, which indicates he cleared the league's five-step concussion protocol. Assuming he clears waivers, Major will look to catch on with a team looking for backfield depth.

Ravens' Marcus Major: Wearing non-contact jersey
Major (concussion) participated in Saturday's training camp practice while wearing a non-contact red jersey, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Major remains in concussion protocol, which forced him to miss Thursday's preseason game against the Colts. His return to practice is a good sign, but he'll need to clear the league's five-step protocol in order to play in the Ravens' next preseason game against the Cowboys on Saturday, Aug. 16. Major signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in late April and is battling for a backup running back spot on the 53-man roster.

Ravens' Marcus Major: In concussion protocol
Head coach John Harbaugh said Saturday that Major is dealing with a concussion, Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
It's unclear when Major suffered the concussion, but he will not be allowed to participate in preseason games until he clears the league's five-step protocol. The undrafted rookie out of Minnesota is battling for a depth spot on the Ravens' 53-man roster, and his absence from practices and preseason games will hurt his chances, especially with Derrick Henry and Justice Hill both expected to miss preseason play. To bolster their backfield depth, the Ravens signed D'Ernest Johnson to a contract on Saturday.

Ravens' Marcus Major: Officially a Raven
Major signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent Monday, Glenn Erby of USA Today reports.
The running back never exceeded 78 carries in any of his six collegiate seasons with Oklahoma and Minnesota. In 2024 with latter university, he finished with 352 rushing yards and three rushing scores to go with 20 catches for 144 yards and a touchdown. Baltimore's top two backs, Derrick Henry and Justice Hill, were big contributors to the team's elite offense in 2024, though there should be roster spots available behind them.
