Commanders' Jayden Daniels: Expected back within three weeks
Daniels (elbow) is expected to return to action for the Commanders in "three weeks or sooner," Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn had already noted Friday that Daniels wasn't in consideration for a stint on injured reserve, but Rapoport's report offers a clearer timeline for the third-year quarterback's return to the lineup. Marcus Mariota will start Sunday's game against the Seahawks and will most likely continue to direct the Commanders offense in Week 4 versus the Colts, but Daniels could be a realistic candidate to rejoin the lineup thereafter. Rapoport notes that whenever he returns, Daniels will wear a brace to protect the dislocated elbow on his left (non-throwing) arm.

Commanders' Jayden Daniels: Won't go on injured reserve
Daniels (elbow) won't be placed on injured reserve and is considered week-to-week, per Commanders head coach Dan Quinn.
Commanders GM Adam Peters said Friday morning that surgery isn't currently on the table. The team won't have Daniels for Week 3 against Seattle but apparently hopes to get him back under center within the next few weeks. Fantasy managers are right to be skeptical, given that Daniels injured and re-injured the same left elbow last season, missing Weeks 10-13 and then Weeks 15-18. In any case, Marcus Mariota will start against Seattle this Sunday.

Commanders' Jayden Daniels: Should avoid injured reserve
Commanders GM Adam Peters, via JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington, said Friday morning that "as of right now surgery is not on the table" for Jayden Daniels (elbow) and that the team "has not discussed" placing him on injured reserve.
Head coach Dan Quinn said earlier in the week that Daniels would miss Week 3 due to the elbow injury he sustained in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, and he could miss more time, but the comments from Peters indicate the Commanders are confident Daniels will be back within four weeks. Marcus Mariota is slated to be the quarterback for Washington until Daniels returns to the field.

Commanders' Jayden Daniels: Out for Week 3, set for more tests
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn confirmed that Daniels will be out for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, but the quarterback remains without a precise timeline for a return while he continues to receive more medical opinions on his left elbow injury, Ben Standig of The Team 980 Washington D.C. reports.
Per Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site, Daniels is set to meet with another arm specialist Wednesday, and the team isn't expected to provide a formal timeline until the quarterback concludes the information-gathering process for his dislocated left elbow. Marcus Mariota will direct the Washington offense in Week 3, and he could be in line for additional starts beyond that if Daniels needs more extended time to recover from his injury. After dislocating the same elbow last November, Daniels missed four weeks, then was shut down for the season after aggravating the injury in his first game back in action.
