Rams' Puka Nacua: Strong start to training camp
Nacua has been the star of Rams training camp through four practices, Nate Atkins of The Athletic reports.
Nacua has made some questionable off-field decisions at times, but his on-field effectiveness isn't in question, and the NFL's 2025 regular-season receptions leader has been piling up plenty of catches in practice as Matthew Stafford's favorite target. As long as Nacua stays on the field, he'll likely be a dominant force in the final season of his rookie contract with the Rams.

Rams' Puka Nacua: Extension unlikely this summer
Nacua and the Rams may wait until next offseason for serious discussions on a long-term contract, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Rapaport suggests Nacua's off-field issues are part of the calculus here, with the Rams wanting to see maturity before they commit to a contract that may set a new record for wide receivers. The 25-year-old is entering the final season of his rookie deal, potentially setting up a tense situation next offseason when the Rams will be able to use a franchise tag to keep him around. There is still some risk of Nacua facing a suspension due to an ongoing civil lawsuit and NFL review of a Dec. 31 incident in which he allegedly bit a woman.

Rams' Puka Nacua: Entering final year of rookie deal
Nacua is heading into the final season of his rookie contract, and the 2023 fifth-round pick is a candidate to get the franchise tag from the Rams for the 2027 campaign if a long-term deal isn't worked out before then, Brock Vierra of USA Today Rams Wire reports.
Nacua has delivered elite production since entering the NFL, racking up 4,191 receiving yards through three regular seasons with the Rams, but some off-field concerns could be giving the Rams pause about extending the star wide receiver long-term. With the team in win-now mode in the twilight of 38-year-old quarterback Matthew Stafford's career, Nacua is poised to remain a key contributor for the Rams in 2026, even if the two sides don't work out an extension prior to the start of the season.
