Chiefs' Kenneth Walker: Returns to full practice Wednesday
Walker (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Pete Sweeney of The Kansas City Star reports.
Walker dealt with some swelling around his ankle last week due to some cleat issues, but the star running back is back in action Wednesday with 12 days to go before the Chiefs open their season at home against the Broncos on Monday, Sept. 14. After splitting duties with Zach Charbonnet (knee) in Seattle, Walker is expected to operate as a three-down workhorse with Kansas City this season. Only fifth-round rookie Emmett Johnson and 2025 seventh-rounder Brashard Smith round out the depth chart behind Walker.

Chiefs' Kenneth Walker: Ankle injury not serious
Walker is experiencing swelling around his ankle but is expected to "be fine," Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star reports.
It was reported Tuesday that Walker was dealing with a foot injury, and head coach Andy Reid clarified a day later that he is actually dealing with an ankle issue. Reid did not express any concern about about Walker's status, so it appears he is not facing any sort of extended absence.

Chiefs' Kenneth Walker: Dealing with foot injury
Walker is not expected to practice Tuesday due to a foot injury, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
Walker has avoided the injury bug since joining the Chiefs over the offseason, but he has picked up a foot issue with just a few weeks to go before the regular season. The extent of the injury is not yet known, but his status will be updated again when more details are released. Emari Demercado and Emmett Johnson are in line for added work should Walker miss any further time.

Chiefs' Kenneth Walker: Logs first touches as a Chief
Walker rushed twice for four yards in the Chiefs' 16-15 preseason loss to the Buccaneers on Saturday.
After getting on the field for just one snap in the preseason opener against the Rams, Walker once again started Saturday but did log his first pair of touches as a member of the Chiefs. The 2025 Super Bowl champion is ticketed for a clear lead-back role this coming season, and Walker therefore is likeliest to next take the field in a Week 1 home matchup against the Broncos on Monday night, Sept. 14.
