Max Duggan: Gets cut loose
Duggan was waived by the Chargers on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Duggan was selected in the seventh round by Los Angeles in the 2023 NFL Draft. After not making the team's initial 53-man roster, the TCU product spent the 2023 campaign on the team's practice squad. Duggan's departure leaves Easton Stick and Luis Perez behind starter Justin Herbert on the team's quarterback depth chart.

Max Duggan: Back on Chargers' practice squad
Duggan signed with the Chargers' practice squad Wednesday.
Duggan has bounced between the Chargers' practice squad and active roster since the team drafted him in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft. The rookie out of TCU suited up for last Saturday's 24-22 loss to the Bills, then got waived Monday before joining the practice squad Wednesday after passing through waivers unclaimed. Will Grier has since been added to the 53-man roster to replace Duggan as the backup to starting quarterback Easton Stick.

Chargers' Max Duggan: Joins Bolts' roster
Duggan signed with the Chargers' 53-man roster Tuesday.
Duggan will move up the team's depth chart at quarterback with Justin Herbert (finger) placed on injured reserve Tuesday. His move to the active roster should cement him as the team's No. 2 man on the depth chart behind Easton Stick, who will now take over the starting job in Herbert's absence.
