Malik Spencer: Departs Commanders with injury settlement
Washington waived Spencer (undisclosed) from IR with an injury settlement Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Spencer joined the Commanders as an undrafted free agent in May and spent training camp with the club. He was waived/injured Aug. 25 and subsequently reverted to IR when he cleared waivers. Since he's now reached an injury settlement with the club, Spencer is eligible to sign with another team and play during the upcoming campaign once healthy.

Spencer (undisclosed) reverted to injured reserve with the Commanders on Wednesday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Spencer was waived with an injury designation Tuesday, and he ultimately went unclaimed on waivers. He will now be forced to miss the entire 2026 season while on IR, unless he's able to reach an injury settlement with Washington.
