Jones (shoulder) is listed as out for Sunday's game versus the Texans.
Despite being a full participant at practice Friday, Jones will spend at least one more week recovering from shoulder surgery before making his NFL debut. It seems like he should have good odds of suiting up for his first game come Week 6 versus the Rams.

Ravens' Emery Jones: Designated to return
Jones (shoulder) was designated to return from the reserve/non-football injury list Wednesday, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Jones missed Baltimore's first four games after undergoing shoulder surgery one week after the NFL Combine, but his participation in practice Wednesday suggests a return is near. The 2025 third-round pick from LSU will likely serve as one of the Ravens' top reserve offensive linemen when healthy. He now has 21 days to be added to the active roster before reverting to the reserve/non-football injury list.

Jones (shoulder) was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list Tuesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Jones underwent shoulder surgery a week after the NFL Combine, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. The rookie third-round pick out of LSU is now guaranteed to miss the first four games of the season. Daniel Faalele is expected to start at right guard to begin the season, and it's unclear if Jones will usurp him upon return.

Ravens' Emery Jones: Likely to miss opener
Jones (shoulder) is not expected to be ready in time for Baltimore's season opener Sept. 7 at Buffalo, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
The offensive guard missed OTAs after shoulder surgery and has yet to take the field during training camp. Jones was expected to compete for the starting right guard spot after going in the third round of April's draft, but now that position appears to belong to Daniel Faalele. It's possible that Jones could push Faalele upon his return, but his timetable for getting on the field remains unclear.

Jones continues to recover from shoulder surgery and will now be forced to miss the start of training camp. Jones has missed spring activities due to a shoulder injury, and with Harbaugh declining to fully commit even to him being ready at some point during training camp, it seems doubtful that he'll be a Day 1 participant. The rookie third-rounder is expected to compete for snaps at right guard when healthy, but his Year 1 development could be significantly impeded if his first appearance at practice doesn't come until late in training camp or the preseason.

Jones probably won't stick at right tackle, where he was a standout three-year starter for LSU, but at guard, Jones' game should project fine at the next level. Jones is only 21 years old despite starting three years, so he might need some development time, but Jones should push the likes of Daniel Faalele for snaps sooner rather than later.
