Eagles' Jihaad Campbell: Larger role in Year 2
Campbell is ready to take on a larger role on defense in the second year of his NFL career, Dave Spadaro of the Eagles' official site reports.
Campbell, a first-round selection of the Eagles in the 2025 NFL Draft, saw his playing time fluctuate during his rookie campaign but still finished with 80 tackles (44 solo), three pass defenses (including one interception), one forced fumble and one fumble recovery across 17 regular-season games (10 starts). Campbell gained eight pounds of muscle during the offseason, and the Alabama product is poised to step into a larger role in the scheme of defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.

Eagles' Jihaad Campbell: Returning for training camp?
Campbell (shoulder) has not practiced all spring but is expected to return for training camp, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
As defensive coordinator Vic Fangio stated in late May, the expectation is for Campbell to be ready for Eagles' training camp in July. Campbell, a 2025 first-round pick from Alabama, appeared in 17 regular-season games during his rookie campaign, recording 80 total tackles, three passes defensed, including one interception, and one forced fumble. With Nakobe Dean's departure in free agency, Campbell is expected to operate as one of Philadelphia's top inside linebackers once healthy.

Eagles' Jihaad Campbell: May not attend OTAs
Campbell (shoulder) may not participate in OTAs but will be ready for training camp, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports.
Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio made it clear that the linebacker would be ready for training camp and left the door open for Campbell to even log some reps in the latter portion of OTAs. The 2025 first-round pick is set to step into a starting role next to Zack Baun in 2026. The departure of Nakobe Dean in free agency means Campbell will take on an expanded role in the Eagles' defense.

Campbell finished his rookie season with 80 tackles, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
The 31st-overall pick immediately stepped into a key role for the defending champions, finishing sixth on the team in defensive snaps and fourth in tackles. While fellow inside linebacker Zack Baun recorded 3.5 sacks, however, Campbell is still searching for his first sack as a professional.

Eagles' Jihaad Campbell: Working through back issue
Campbell (back) was a limited participant in Wednesday's walkthrough practice.
Campbell likely tweaked his back during the Eagles' Week 17 win over the Bills, when he logged seven tackles (four solo) while playing 71 of 76 defensive snaps (93.4 percent). He'll have two more chances to log a full practice and likely avoid an injury tag for Sunday's game against the Commanders, though he could operate on a snap count as the Eagles prepare to defend their Super Bowl crown.
