Patriots' Bryce Baringer: Moved to IR
The Patriots placed Baringer (undisclosed) on injured reserve Monday.
Baringer suffered an injury during the Patriots' 24-21 preseason win over the Eagles and has not practiced since the incident. The punter will now miss the first four games of the regular season on IR before he is eligible to return to the active roster, though it's possible he works out an injury settlement with the team between now and Week 5. The Patriots signed punter Mitch Wishnowsky to the practice squad Monday, and he's expected to fill in during Baringer's absence.

Patriots' Bryce Baringer: Week 1 status uncertain
Baringer picked up an unspecified injury during the Patriots' 24-21 preseason win over the Eagles on Saturday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Baringer punted twice for 91 yards before being pulled from Saturday's exhibition contest with an undisclosed injury, putting him in jeopardy of missing the Patriots' Week 1 clash against the Seahawks on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Matt Haack was signed by the Patriots on Monday to serve as the team's punter in Baringer's absence, per Reiss.

Patriots' Bryce Baringer: Another special teams spot for NE
The Patriots selected Baringer in the sixth round of the NFL Draft, 192nd overall.
Baringer becomes the first punter drafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, but ironically he's the second special teams player drafted by the Patriots on Day 3 after New England locked in kicker Chad Ryland in the fourth round. With starting punter Jake Bailey gone, expect Baringer to compete with Corliss Waitman for the team's starting job.
