Pistons' John Collins: Quiet in Pistons debut
Collins closed Tuesday's 121-113 victory over the Celtics with six points (3-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 25 minutes.
Collins started for his new team, as expected, but certainly fell short of the mark when it comes to having a sizeable impact. The two combined steals and blocks were nice, but more is going to be expected from him, particularly on the offensive end. Despite the struggles, he remains a clear hold in all formats.

Pistons' John Collins: Flirts with double-double
Collins logged 12 points (4-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds and one steal over 22 minutes during Friday's 129-125 preseason win over the Raptors.
Collins co-led the Pistons in rebounds during Friday's preseason finale, and he ended off the first half nicely with eight points in the second quarter. Collins signed a three-year contract with the Pistons on July 1 to replace Tobias Harris, the latter of whom is in San Antonio. Collins finished the 2025-26 regular season having averaged 13.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.9 steals over 27.1 minutes per game while connecting on 55.2 percent of his field-goal attempts.

Pistons' John Collins: Preparing for first year with Pistons
Collins finished with 11 points (4-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds and two steals in 20 minutes during Wednesday's 128-106 preseason victory over the Timberwolves.
Collins is replacing Tobias Harris, who jumped ship for San Antonio over the summer, in the starting lineup during his debut campaign with the Pistons. The veteran power forward is a strong lob threat and pick-and-roll big man, which should play well with superstar point guard Cade Cunningham. Collins got off to a shaky start last season but experienced a second-half turnaround from Jan. 1 onward, averaging 14.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 three-pointers per game while shooting 58.1 percent from the field and 45.2 percent from deep across his final 38 regular-season appearances.

Pistons' John Collins: Meshing well with Cunningham
Collins plans to use his versatility to complement Cade Cunningham after joining the Pistons during the offseason, Hunter Patterson of The Athletic reports.
The veteran forward highlighted Cunningham's playmaking ability and said he wants to generate easy baskets by playing off the star guard. Collins shot 40.6 percent from three-point range during the 2025-26 regular season, and his combination of perimeter shooting and finishing ability should give Cunningham another versatile offensive option.

Pistons' John Collins: Stepping into key role
Collins could be the most significant offseason addition for the Pistons, per Coty M. Davis of The Detroit News.
Collins is replacing Tobias Harris, who left for San Antonio this summer, in the starting lineup this year. The veteran power forward is a strong lob threat and pick-and-roll big man, which could play well with Cade Cunningham running the show at point guard. Collins got off to a rough start last season but experienced a second-half turnaround from Jan. 1 onward, averaging 14.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 three-pointers per game while shooting 58.1 percent from the floor and 45.2 percent from downtown over his final 38 regular-season appearances.
